Susan Rice: Bergdahl Served With 'Honor and Distinction'

President Obama's national security adviser, Susan Rice, said on ABC that Bowe Bergdahl "served the United States with honor and distinction."
Certainly anybody who's been held in those conditions, in captivity for five years, has paid an extraordinary price. But that is really not the point. The point is that he's back,” Rice told ABC host George Stephanopoulos when asked whether Bergdahl was a deserter and whether he'd face punishment.
“He is going to be safely reunited with his family. He served the United States with honor and distinction. And we’ll have the opportunity eventually to learn what has transpired in the past years, but what's most important now is his health and well being, that he have the opportunity to recover in peace and security and be reunited with his family. Which is why this is such a joyous day.”

There was no good excuse for this guy deserting his friends in a combat zone. A defensive position for a unit is planned to utilize EVERY weapon in the unit. When Begdahl took off, he left a hole in the defense of his unit. He intentionally left the other Soldiers in his unit open to being slaughtered. If the enemy had attacked and found a weakness where Bergdahl was supposed to be, we’d all be upset about the slaughter of 40 American Soldiers. Bergdahl didn’t care about that. He decided he was more important. That kind of behavior in American Soldiers needs to be corrected. The law is clear on the correction applied to Soldiers who desert in a combat zone.

They thought this prisoner release would be good politics and give them a much needed win after all the bad scandal news. Instead, they just threw another scandal on the pyre and are now trying to douse it with a fresh stream of lies.
But it's not working. Even the media doesn't have the energy to help them out on this losing case.
