Stockholm Syndrome is when someone is held against his will and eventually adopts the side of the kidnappers, not when someone goes off to join them and, according to some accounts, shares information and helpful attack tips with them.
That's the first time I've heard that.I *have* heard,OTOH,that he was promoted from E-3 to E-5 while in captivity.If that's correct that suggests that the Army believed him to be a soldier who was following orders when captured as well as after having been captured.But I suppose that the Army might not have been aware of these e-mails or doubted their authenticity if they were,in fact,written.
