“average cat owner is more reserved, perceptive, tolerant and better at breaking rules than the average dog owner.”

Also more neurotic, less coordinated, and servant to the cat.

Paid for by the Cat Owner's Association of America?
As a Cat owner I wouldn't mind believing this study but I'm too smart to fall for such flattery.

It makes sense, I like them both equally, but the pool of cat owners is going to have fewer mouth breathing idiots in it than the pool of dog owners.

Dog owners might be thinking of the themselves and their friends and family when they think of the average dog owner, but they also know that it is almost mandatory for the knuckle dragger low IQ crowd to also have a dog, or dogs.

That low end crowd among the dog owners, rarely has a house cat as a pet, and usually doesn’t even like them because they seem too mysterious and subtle for the mouth breathers.

It’s not surprising about the IQ of cat owners. A cat owner has to be smarter than their cat to have any chance at all to get their cat to behave.

I like dogs and cats but I have cats. I have been self-employed my whole life and cats suit my lifestyle I think it must be easier to have a dog if one has regular work hours. Perhaps those who live less structured lives prefer less structured creatures, not so needy.

I have never purchased a cat. Feral cats come around, I feed them, they become domesticated. They sit on my lap when I am outside. I used to let one in the house but she was clawing my leather couch, so now she is outside with two others. They can do fine if I have to go away on business for a day or so. Humans do not need to eat every day if they have water, and cats do not need to, either.

They can always catch some bug or rodent if they are hungry, It would tug at my heartstrings if I had some needy dog at home waiting forlornly for my return.
