Eruptions continue at the volcano after yesterday's major explosion. Dense ash plumes rising from the summit crater can be seen on this morning's satellite images, and a MODIS hot spot is visible on the latest satellite data, suggesting fresh magma continues to arrive at the volcano's summit crater. In the meanwhile, the ash and SO2 plume has drifted and spread over more than 3000 km to the E and SE, covering a vast area that includes parts of northern and eastern Australia.

But 0bama is going to shut down a third of this country's power generating plants to reduce "polluting" co2.
Hat tip, Piers Corbyn Twitter feed.
More man made global warming
.. must be President Bush’s fault ...
Whew! Some of that ash may help cut back the warming we’ve been having. Thanks earth for doing your part. :>}
That’s close to Krakatoa..which is in the process of rebuilding itself and getting ready for another eruption..
are they going to fine indonesia as they exceed their ‘allowed’ carbon output?
By blocking the sun, that ash is going to make global cooling even worse.
Of course
At least we can believe the hero of Benghazi this time when he says he saw it on tv
Everyone got so hung up on Bush's weather machine that they totally forgot about the volcano machine he had in storage. I guess after he dusted off the earthquake machine recently he decided pull this one out too!

My granddaughter is in Indonesia right now. On a 3 week mission trip with Baylor U.
I was not happy concerning her traveling there. Two things concerned me.
Islamic terrorists , Indonesia has the most Muslims of any country, many kooks.
and..
Volcanos.
She is completely out of touch. No phone, cell phone, internet, etc.
Located the volcano in relation to her on Google Maps.
She is about 600-700 miles North of Sangeang. No problem.
I am sorry to hear this. I can’t believe Baylor U. would not know exactly where your granddaughter is and exactly how to communicate with her, but that is more her parent’s province. I hope and pray for a good result.
I know where she is, there’s no common communications out of there. I’m sure a sat phone would work.
Apparently Baylor has been doing this for many years.

I would love to see that - from a distance. Quite a pyroclastic flow coming down off the plume in that one photo.
