The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.'

Happy Sunday all...we remember and give pause to our Vets at Memorial Day.

It's perfect weather all this weekend and life is fine. A consistently solid lineup tonight...My Favorite Husband is usually good, a detective show, Suspense!...and MGM Theater (which could be good or ok)...

How is everyone?

Hello, FRiends! Thanks, Vision.

Looks like a good lineup this evening. Love the "Suspense" with Joan Crawford and "Broadway is My Beat." According to the synopsis of "My Favorite Husband," we'll have to listen for Lucille Ball to misread a line, making everyone laugh.

Hi, Vision. It’s nice weather here, too. Hot and sunny, so the beach is hoppin’.

How’s it going with you? I guess you’re not grilling since you went to a cookout. I think I’m going to make spaghetti! :-)

Evening, folks. Hope that cookout worked out good, Vision. My wife is currently attending one; I can’t travel too far sometimes due to the antibiotics I’m on (need to stay close to the privy), but she’s bringing me home something right off the grill when she leaves. Tuning into the show in a few.

It was sad.

So, spaghetti? Huh. I had the smoker going since the morning with smoked sausage and pork steaks.

You all have off tomorrow?

Yes, we’re off tomorrow. I was hoping to write my usual Monday column, but I may put it off till Tuesday.

In the house we moved to last June, we’re about six blocks or so off the beach. Before, we were two blocks off it.
