Every dog has it's day ... and in the case of the Lab/Chow mix that viciously attacked a little boy only to be scared off by hero cat -- his last day was Saturday.
Sources at the Bakersfield animal shelter tell TMZ ... Scrappy was euthanized at the end of a 10-day hold following the attack. We're told the dog was aggressive during his stay at the shelter, even trying to bite a couple of employees.
Scrappy was so ornery ... we're told he would try to attack staff even when they tried to give him food and water.

Only dog who ever bit me was a chow. Well, my nephew’s pit when I was scratching him but Eli did but in a loving sort of way he took my arm firmly in his mouth and looked it me. I stared him down. I never went near him again. Scary.

Those terriers are really brilliant.
I remember seeing one outside a deli near here. I said to myself: that dog looks like it’s smarter than about 90% of humans. I honestly felt like talking to the dog, and I am not a dog person.
I told hubby about seeing this dog and he told me about his aunt’s terrier. He said he would walk the dog sometimes and it would always trick him into letting it off the leash. Then it would take off, leaving hubby chasing after him and in a panic over what his aunt would do to him for losing her dog.
My hubby is one of the smartest people I know, and he IS a dog person.
I asked him how many times this had happened. “Every time” he said.

"But one day a young Latino male, with a folded-in umbrella approached us. Our dog FREAKED...We figured that at one time a young Latino male got her to come to him by using food as a lure...then beat the holy pie outta her with the folded up umbrella when she got near." Um, could it had been just the umbrella he was holding rather that the fact he was Latino?

Yup.
Chows can be pretty odd.
My sister dumped hers on my parents.
Until his stifles crippled him up, he wanted to bite everybody.
Except me.

Wow, that’s really in tin-foil hat land. Is the cat for rent? “Have Bad Dog, Will Travel”? Does the cat arrange the sting operation?
To: El Laton Caliente
Not by me. I have always been of the opinion that a Chow is more aggressive than most other breeds. In my opinion, their aggressiveness is a trait to help overcome their stupidity. Like some people here on this earth. Doesn't work for either.

Investigators were as skeptical as you because of our perceptions of the limitations of animal intelligence and dexterity, but when they tested Hero cat with this feline version of three dimensional chess, no one in the lab could beat her.

We have a dog close by who is a strike away,, nasty Lil bastard has bitten and nipped at quite a few local folk.
I wish the local wild turkeys would stomp his butt sometime.. That’d make for some good video.

“Dog owners in two other cities who have seen the video believe that Hero cat resembles the same cat who got their dogs euthanized after being video taped in attacks, that they now claim the cat seems to have staged by setting up the dogs to provoke a response which could then be used as deadly evidence against them.”
lol...
But, did we really need the DailyKos position on this?

The owner named the dog “Scrappy?” Now, there’s a guilty plea if ever there was one.

Poor parenting.Almost certainly, but in all seriousness: If humans can be violently insane, why not dogs?
