Paul McCartney has canceled his concert in South Korea next week due to the virus-caused illness that forced him to call off his entire Japan tour, organizers said Wednesday.
The former Beatle, who turns 72 next month, had planned to hold concerts in Japan and South Korea as part of his world tour.

The statement said that "Paul is still not feeling better and this cancellation is unavoidable."
Organizers said McCartney's side didn't give them details about his illness. Representatives for McCartney declined to comment to The Associated Press about his condition Wednesday.

I noticed that on a televised concert recently. He would sing one fast song after another, but didn’t move from the microphone, and never stopped to drink water, which I think is a mistake.
He’s coming to my town next month, and as much as I would love to go, I can’t afford the tickets. My sister was lucky and won tickets off the radio, but she’s going with her husband. I know she’s holding her breath hoping he’s OK.
On his “Standards” album, Diana Krall played piano on all the tracks.

Nah, no disagreement...you are correct. I think the dope finally got to him after the collapse of the Beatles. The synapses couldn’t fire anymore. My wife is a huge fan of his post-Beatles stuff, but I hate it. Nevertheless, I took her to a McCartney concert in Milwaukee last year, and it was pretty good. Of course, the only songs I liked were his Beatles ones. The only Beatle who had good stuff after the breakup was Harrison. Even Ringo’s music was better than McCartney’s post.
That’s cool. I love Diana Krall.
But in person....it was all Paul. He is really good.
He is also an extraordinary guitar player. I had no idea.
I guess when you are him, and you make it to 72, you are going to get pretty good on some instruments if you put in the time....which he has.
Paul played all the instruments on his first solo record. Everything on “Maybe, I’m Amazed” was him...not a shabby guitar solo there.
He did the guitar solo on “Taxman”, which was one of the better Beatle guitar solos.
And once John quipped that Ringo wasn’t even the best drummer in the Beatles.
Lacking the album cover credits I can’t say, but yes, I believe it is him. He sang that one too. Really stretched himself on the high notes. Paul loves to perform and will until he dies I believe.
I prefer Ringo's post-Beatles work. But most of his popular tunes were written or co-written by Harrison.

Krall of course is married to Elvis Costello, who collaborated with Paul earlier.
Frankly, I thought they would have made a real good team, Costello kind of provides that cynical side that John had with the Beatles.
It’s not uncommon for the flu to ground someone half his age for 3-4 weeks. And then they can get back to work behind a desk - not performing for 3 hours every few days.
I’m guessing his US tour will be great, and I have tickets!
Good point re: Paul writing with ElvisC - that certainly would have been interesting.
ConservativeDude - Paul has been a VERY underrated bass player. The Beatles early albums were engineered by Norman Smith who potted down the bass. It was only with Geoff Emerick that the bass became more clearly discernable.
As an aside, my fav bassist is Jaco Pastorius...and Paul certainly captures that same musicality in his bass playing.

I am told by a friend who was at the concert with me, that the bass that Paul frequently used was in fact THE BASS...(you know the one I’m talking about).
I just assumed it was a nostalgic replica...but it was the real deal. Amazing!!!!
It does not surprise me at all that his virtuosity on bass was previously underplayed. Because he is an exceptional guitar player (including lead...had some wicked solos!), and like I said before, an amazing piano player!
OH....I almost forgot.
At the concert I was at, he sang George Harrison’s “Something” but accompanied himself on a mandolin.
I was just slack-jawed when he did that!!!!!!
About halfway through the song, the whole band joined in. It was, well, something else...
John Lennon said a lot of things that he didn't necessarily believe just to stir the pot. All four of the Beatles were drummers and given their other talents, I don't doubt that they were all pretty good. Given that Keith Moon of the Who, Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones and other notable drummers of the London rock scene considered Ringo as a kind of mentor, I'm inclined to respect their opinions on Ringo's abilities more than John Lennon's.
Sir Paul would play complicated and sophisticated bass parts that other bassists would not attempt. Listening to McCartney, his playing makes me think that he isn't just a great bass player but instead is a great musician who happens to play bass guitar.
My teen-aged son has become quite a Beatles' fan. He made a great observation about While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Although Eric Clapton was brought in for the featured part, it was the rhythm parts of Paul and Ringo which combine to dominate the song. I've come to believe that this strong bottom-end to their songs is one of the reasons that their music was superior to their contemporaries and why it has such an enduring character.
You are correct. I have never heard anything approaching the sheer musicality and arrangements of the Beatles.

I’m with you on your comments about his abilities and creativeness on bass. I’m not a musician, but it always seemed to me his playing on Beatles songs could be considered a second “lead”.
And not to go off topic, but Ringo is also vastly underrated for his drumming. I can’t think of one Beatles song that would have been better with a different drummer.
None of their songs featured extended “solo’s”, but their musicianship was superb.
Their politics notwithstanding, they changed music forever and there will never again be a group of 5 people (George Martin included) come together that will collectively be as talented and innovative as John, Paul, the Georges and Ringo.
You are spot on. Brad Carlson (Bun E. Carlos) of Cheap Trick fame admired Ringo Starr immensely. Brad was once nick-named by my bass player brother “OB” (one beat). Well, Brad, even though he no longer tours, still practices two hours a day, and will always be the recording drummer on any future CT albums.
We all grew up in Rockford IL and my brother played with Brad for a little over three years. They had a number one hit in Chicago. Brad is a real professional and Ringo was as innovative and creative as any of the Beatles.
I think the Beatles were a high-water mark of achievement that will stand for decades if not forever.
