Posted on a local Facebook page. The photo quality is poor. Is this photoshopped?
I thought it was fake only because I’ve never seen them flying so close to homes before (and it looked fake), but the clear version does look legit.
Here's a resized comparison:
seems a bit low.... but...

If you have Facebook check out this drop on the reporter/photographer.
lolz
Same tanker? (”Suppresses” a news photographer) Note the spotter plane leading the DC-10 in & popping smoke at the drop point: http://www.military.com/video/aircraft/military-aircraft/dc10-supertanker-soaks-cameraman/3569585196001/
That’s a 747. This pic is a DC-10. I saw them flying around here over the past few days. I wasn’t questioning the existed of the plane, just the authenticity of the pic. It was very distorted. I found a cleared version of the pic up thread.
New photo check page determines whether a photo has been altered or not.
“Computers have long made it possible to create highly realistic fake images. Now, thanks to Izitru a new service launched by photo forensics firm Fourandsix those very same computers can help us automatically detect those fakes. Izitru builds on the pioneering work that imaging guru Hany Farid has done in detecting phony photos. Unlike previous systems, Izitru is completely automated, relying on a set of six tests to help verify uploaded JPEG images...”

While the chemical drop on flames looks real, I don’t know about the altitudeo or atitude of the plane. I think there’s a slight possibility that the plane was photographed in action and then photoshopped a bit too low over a residential area. I am not a pilot so I’m perfectly willing to be wrong - but the location of the plane flying so low over heated air would make it a bit hard to control (that’s why birds appear to dive bomb your car when you are on the freeway - they are flying along just fine until they fly over heated asphalt, the air is thinner and their altitude drops suddenly)
Maybe I’m just off in my depth perception - we can’t see much about the topography.
Does the retardant travel thought the air faster than the jet?? Looks fake to me

cool video.... I’m jealous, I have always wanted to bomb the media...
Great video. Thanks.
“Thats a 747.”
Yes, I realize that’s a 747. My take was, is this even real? I’d have thought that jets would make poor firefighting vehicles. But I was wrong. (Apparently.) I just went looking for the biggest one. The photo did look like a very poorly done Photoshop. Even if it is, I have learned something new.
