Missing radio icon Casey Kasem appears to have been found.
The New York Daily News reported early Thursday that California law enforcement officials had located the longtime "American Top 40" host somewhere in Washington state.
"He's already been found," Sgt. Mario Toti of the Santa Monica Police Department told the Daily News
Kasem's daughter, Kerri, told the Daily News she had not been informed of her father's whereabouts when contacted by a reporter.

They always call him “radio icon”.
He’s Shaggy.
Like zoinks!
Zoinks!
Well, he’s famous both as the voice of Shaggy, and as the host for many years of “American Top 40” on the radio. Apparently the news writers have decided that his being a “radio icon” is more important than the voice of Shaggy.
Why do they always take me to Washington state coming out of an uptempo number!
I feel sorry for his children, who really seem to care about him. No one should have to go through their elderly, possibly dying parent being shifted around to and fro in some sadistic “Hide The Thing” or Peek-a-Boo game. There is no way Jean, the present wife can justify this. She has got to know how bad it makes her look, but Jean clearly does not care how the ‘little people’ think.
They need to get him away from that wife.
His Top 40 DJ fame is definitely the more significant of his career accomplishments.
This is really a shame. From what I’ve read, Kasem’s dementia is in a very advanced stage. The particular type he has (something called Lewy Body), causes both mental and physical decline, emulating Parkinson’s like physical symptoms along with the mental decline, which can hallucinations, and losing the ability to communicate (Kasem supposedly has been unable to speak since at least last year).
I don’t know who’s in the right or wrong between the wife and kids (or if either is), but it’s terrible that Kasem is caught between them at a time when a family most needs to pull together and make peace with things.
In the governor’s office, giving counsel ?
Yes.
But, thinking about it, that’s a mistake.
“His Top 40 DJ fame is definitely the more significant of his career accomplishments.”
No.
Shaggy is universally known. A classic icon.
AT40? I, and many here, remember it from when we were young.
Everyone from geezers to babies knows Shaggy.
You got the lingo down pat!
I'm a freakin' professional here and I'm working with idiots!
Oh no, he has dementia too? Sad! Both my parents have alzheimers and now I,learn my first boss Casey Kasem has dementia too. I hope he can be reunited with his kids.
Yes, I know that .Shaggy is known ..but Kasem was already famous before that. Top 40 countdown was the king of all countdown shows .it created a genre of music shows .and when Frank Caliendo spoofs Kasem, it’s countdown, not Shaggy.
Kinda have mixed emotions on this one. Lost a friend of mine about 5 years ago, meanest grumpiest old fart you’d ever want to meet. OK he wasn’t mean but he was a grumpy old fart. He ranched 12 sections about 8 miles east of our place and raised 3 kids with his first wife Beth. Beth died of cancer when she was 58 years old, Bob remarried 4 years later. All but one of Bob’s kids left the ranch and this area as soon as they could, his youngest daughter who stayed died of skin cancer at 32. Later oil was discovered on the ranch and Bob and Sandy started making a little money. When Bob died the two kids came out of hiding and started making demands on Sandy who was given orders by Bob not to give them kid’s a damn thing. “I raised them, put them through college and now they ignore me”, these words I heard myself. Sandy is still on the ranch, I was a pallbearer at Bob’s funeral and I don’t have a clue where his kid’s are now.
“Can I get a goddam concerted effort to . . . .”
Holy Hostage, Batman!
Kasem was also the voice of Robin in the Super Friends cartoons.
