Why do they always take me to Washington state coming out of an uptempo number!
I feel sorry for his children, who really seem to care about him. No one should have to go through their elderly, possibly dying parent being shifted around to and fro in some sadistic “Hide The Thing” or Peek-a-Boo game. There is no way Jean, the present wife can justify this. She has got to know how bad it makes her look, but Jean clearly does not care how the ‘little people’ think.
They need to get him away from that wife.
This is really a shame. From what I’ve read, Kasem’s dementia is in a very advanced stage. The particular type he has (something called Lewy Body), causes both mental and physical decline, emulating Parkinson’s like physical symptoms along with the mental decline, which can hallucinations, and losing the ability to communicate (Kasem supposedly has been unable to speak since at least last year).
I don’t know who’s in the right or wrong between the wife and kids (or if either is), but it’s terrible that Kasem is caught between them at a time when a family most needs to pull together and make peace with things.
In the governor’s office, giving counsel ?
Kinda have mixed emotions on this one. Lost a friend of mine about 5 years ago, meanest grumpiest old fart you’d ever want to meet. OK he wasn’t mean but he was a grumpy old fart. He ranched 12 sections about 8 miles east of our place and raised 3 kids with his first wife Beth. Beth died of cancer when she was 58 years old, Bob remarried 4 years later. All but one of Bob’s kids left the ranch and this area as soon as they could, his youngest daughter who stayed died of skin cancer at 32. Later oil was discovered on the ranch and Bob and Sandy started making a little money. When Bob died the two kids came out of hiding and started making demands on Sandy who was given orders by Bob not to give them kid’s a damn thing. “I raised them, put them through college and now they ignore me”, these words I heard myself. Sandy is still on the ranch, I was a pallbearer at Bob’s funeral and I don’t have a clue where his kid’s are now.
