Looks like a thread got started, so you did it right, in my book.

Thanks for stepping up.

Spring has finally sprung here in west Michigan. The garden is double dugged, and I have my romaine lettuce about 2 inches high under glass in a big pot. Also just started my pepper seeds. I know it’s late but I just didn’t want to start anything inside this year. Will probably plant some radishes later today after the rain stops.

Squash plants have lots of little squash. Bean and tomato plants are blooming and putting on. Cucumbers are growing faster than I ever remember.

Here in Central Florida temps are way up and crops have shifted into high gear. Here's what I picked today, plus a whole bunch more tomatoes:

Spring harvest This is the first year I tried Cherokee Purple tomatoes and I must say I'm impressed. Great taste!

Lady Bender & I got 5 rows of sweet corn transplanted yesterday. Due to our area's climate we have to start it in the green house and transplant to the garden…

The weekend was a success.

Transplanted 40 tomato plants and 40 pepper plants into the garden on Saturday. Also got some cucumber seed planted.

Then Saturday night it rained and hailed and the wind blew a lot. No damage at my place but the pond sure did take on a lot of water. I plugged the pump in early yesterday morning and let it run all night. That dropped the water level ~18”. With more rain in the forecast for tonight it’s liable to take a week to pump it out so I can get back to digging.

Spent most of the day yesterday working on the new deck. I got almost done laying the floor planks but I ran out of straight boards so I worked a bit on the railing. I guess it’s time to toss all of the warped stuff on the trailer and make a trip to Lowe’s.

Thanks for helping out while I was out of town. Had a great weekend with the family. Exciting torrential downpour on the way to our accomodations and tornado moving along the highway and destination in front of us and heading away from us. Great food too.
