Carrots:
I had to replant carrots directly in the soil of a large grow bag and those little seedlings may or may not make carrots - it's nearly impossible to thin them.

sockmonkey, you talked about using the toilet paper tubes or paper towel tubes (cut down to size) to plant a carrot seed in each, then when the seedling is up, plant the whole tube in soil. That sounds excellent to me now as each carrot would be separate from the next one. I'm going to try that with some now and see what happens.

I planted more tobacco today. I'll keep planting tobacco every week for a couple of more months, until I get the stand of tobacco I want.

Unfortunately, when I was scraping the last few seeds into the last few spots.... I sneezed. 4 of the spots got about 5000 seeds. I may be mowing it more than thinning it.

Yeah, and I had saved about three dozen to try it, but the other day, I was cleaning, and tossed them all. I won't be trying carrots until fall, but since a 25 lb bag of juicers is about 7 bucks, it's easier to buy them at Restaurant Depot.

I collected cardboard tubes all last fall and winter when I read about that technique. Then, the puppy joined the family and that’s what I wound up growing this spring lol! (The Creator is looking right now and probably cracking up. That’s OK. It’s nice to be a source of amusement.) There’s always the fall or next spring....
