I’m 1000’s of miles away, so I didn’t hear it of course.
But I remember growing up in Southern California a lot of sonic booms and the house shaking. I think it was due to jets out of Edwards.

News reports said it's related to military exercises in the Gulf Of Mexico. Our military exercises?

F-22s are capable of supersonic cruise, and there’s a lot of them at Tyndall, not far away.

You know, if you hadn’t pointed it out to me I wouldn’t have remembered. I live right near a hospital and am used to commotion - there were some major ambulance and horn honking going on, and I thought it was lifeflight stuff, and my dogs were barking like mad. I am in North Pasco.
But now that you talk about it, I did hear some booms.

I’m right in the middle of Pinellas and I felt one boom and a mild aftershock.

Was it a “boom” boom or just a boom?
Because that will make all the difference in the answer.

Whatever it was, it was heard and felt over a large area, all the way to Lakeland at least.
