Legendary conservative columnist George Will says he is an atheist. [ ]
Im an amiable, low voltage atheist, Will explained. I deeply respect religions and religious people. The great religions reflect something constant and noble in the human character, defensible and admirable yearnings.
I am just not persuaded. Thats all, he added.

Enjoy arguing about it when you stand before him in judgement. I already know who wins the argument; I cheated and read the end of the book.
Come on, don't be shy. You're that geocentrist guy, right?
True or false : The Earth orbits the Sun.
True or false: your mind orbits a whiskey bottle
It's interesting how often they revert to this rationale that God is a useful argument and therefore we should either believe or pretend to. But for me, social pressures and the judicial system are enough to keep me in line.
Not to mention that believing in God doesn't necessarily stop people from committing crimes. I haven't heard any studies that found more atheists among the prison population, for instance, than one would expect.
You are quite wrong; I had a Koran in the 1990s because I wrote a diatribe about Islam in grad school. Of course, my liberal professors disagreed with me about what a misogynistic, aggressive religion it was. But they kept denying it even on Sept 12, 2001, so...
I am familiar with them both, and it is definitely the Old Testament God, Mr. I-am-a-jealous-god, go-kill-the-Canaanites, no mention of rape being morally wrong, dire threats and warnings and on and on... yes, that's the God the Muslims built on. Oh, they added their own take, just as you have, but it's clear that the Bronze Age, patriarchal God of the Middle East moves seamlessly from Israel to Lebanon and Syria.
And I seem to remember your God wanting a child sacrifice. Isaac, wasn't it? He was spared, of course, but God was pleased that Abraham was willing to do it. Yes, that's a god the muslims recognize quite readily.
Exactly. And since Christians can get forgiveness quite readily, it's not even that much of a deterrent for them.
You don’t understand physics.
False! Come on dude! Tell me about geocentrism.
You have to have an IQ above 70 to delve the things of the Lord. (you fail, I hope you have someone to read this for you)
He appears to understand signal processing quite well.
Adding heat always destroys information.
“I no longer found the arguments for theism persuasive.”
What did you find persuasive, in theism’s stead?
Do they all profess atheism, or agnosticism.
If the former, it explains a great deal about how you arrive at the two parties having such similar platforms, in reality.
No. But people act on their beliefs. Beliefs determine morality.
And "without God, everything is permissible."
You omitted my qualifier, which said no one should have a problem with another person's belief "as long as it doesnt break your leg or pick your pocket."
I was a libertarian in my '20s. It's not the worst philosophy in the world, but it's very shallow, and rests on nothing.
If you want truth and depth, try Aristotle and Aquinas.
He’s anxious for a lively debate at the Great White Throne!
.
It doesn't explain the interesting part.
Funny all this reading and mangling at the same time.
Isaac was not a child when Abraham was called to sacrifice him. Do you remember what was given in place of the human sacrifice? Did you take note that this was a specific command to a specific individual and not to be repeated? Compare Jeremiah 7:31. Also, the Muslims believe that Abraham was called to sacrifice Ishmael, also not a child.
As for “rape not being morally wrong”, thanks for admitting you never read Deuteronomy 22:25.
So do you believe that your consciousness is the highest form of consciousness in the universe?

When you provide a set of characteristics that define consciousness, I might be in a better position to answer your question.
So you don’t believe that consciousness exists?
Aren’t Krauthammer and Ron Paul also?
Compared to some of them, he’s a ray of sunshine.
