The “complainant” needs to be exposed and publicly shamed.
Those who wish to ban books for moronic reasons... they are the ones who promote my violent thoughts...
THIS might be the moron complaint of the month. S/he needs a life, doncha think?
I have this book at least partially memorized - at some point it says “stop, you must not hop on pop” therefore teaching children to mind and have respect for their elders.
Jaws was banned by a school for having too much sexual contact.
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? was banned by the Texas Board of Education in 2010, because its author, Bill Martin, Jr. was a marxist; problem is, Bill Martin, Jr., the marxist author, isn't Bill Martin, Jr., the children's book author.
Charlotte's Web was banned in a school district in Kansas because two talking animals must be the work of the devil.
Merrimack, NH, schools, pulled Twelfth Night, by Bill Shakespeare. Girl washes ashore after a shipwreck, disguises herself as a page, and falls in love with her male master. Cross-dressing, faux same-sex romance violated school district's "prohibition of alternative lifestyle instruction."
Most recently, in Meridian, Idaho, when the school district banned "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian," students complained, and the publisher sent 350 free copies to be distributed to students. When students tried to distribute them for free in a city park, one of the 'ban the book' fathers called the police.
Good. It's always one malcontent who ruins things for everybody. Someone needs to stand up and tell these complainers to go pound sand.
Hey Canucks,.......EAT ME,
Oh, for the Sake of Pete
Why is it that someone who is able to work out the correct procedure for challenging a book in the public library system, is incapable of grasping the meaning of a children’s book written almost entirely in monosyllables?
