ELK POINT, S.D. (AP) Two South Dakota girls on their way to an end-of-school-year party at a gravel pit in May 1971 drove off a country road and into a creek where their remains lay hidden until last fall when a drought brought their car into view, authorities said Tuesday.

It's sad the one girl's dad died 5 days before the car was found

Hope it doesn't take as long to find Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.

It’s gonna take a heck of a drought to uncover 370.

Maybe.
It might have been better to know that she died in a sudden accident and was possibly unconscious, rather than being abducted or abused.
Who knows what conclusion he had come to in his mind.

Saw this story somewhere recently.Life is tenuous...even for the young. My sister lost her 18 year old daughter to a drunk driver 4 days before Christmas.Twenty five years later and she's not even *close* to being “over it”.But these parents not knowing for decades...that had to be even more difficult.

I do not like the part about the zealous investigators trying to pin a murder rap on some jailbird.
I keep saying that I can survive the truth, it’s the lies I worry about.

It’s like losing a limb. You continue on with life, but there is an impact that is always there.
Truth be told, I suspect pretty much every adult has to live with things like this in varying degrees. It’s part of being human.
And accepting Christ really DOES remove burdens. Even this kind. I know from personal experience.

I do not like the part about the zealous investigators trying to pin a murder rap on some jailbird. Sometimes convenient jailhouse snitches are all they have.

Similar to a case in this area where a woman was missing after a party and many suspected bf of killing her. NO evidence. Her vehicle and body were found in a marsh some years later during a dry spell. She had gone straight ahead on a curve.

IPCC says that the oceans will rise not fall. They keep prattling on about those unfortunate people on the coasts and on islands who will be drowned.

In the early 1970’s the annual death toll from traffic accidents was horrendous and I never remember child abduction being a subject of national attention until a decade or so later. Something mechanical or car related must have been the logical assumption.
