A Knoxville photographer has captured a police officer on camera using what looks like excessive and unnecessary force on a college student. The sequence of photographs show the young man complying with Knox County deputies as they lead him to a police van at the University of Tennessee, before an officer uses two hands to choke the student until he is unconscious. The young man was arrested during a wild college party celebrating after a week of finals that spilled out onto the street on Saturday night.

Drunken male college students are dangerous and sometimes VERY stupid. They think they are invincible and immortal. They are the ones who keep the Stanford Hospitals of this country supplied with YOUNG hearts, livers, kidneys, etc., for those who need transplants.

The fact that 5 officers were demoted by JJ Jones should tell you
something, that is if you had a brain capable of deductive reasoning.
Since I have no idea what actually transpired between the officer and the kid...kid could have been verbally abusive...and would have given the cop the benefit of the doubt...
Until...I got to the part about him slapping him around while he was unconscious...

Bad words are not supposed to evoke any kind of “compliance” hold, or any kind of reaction from police officers.
Spitting? Officer Tallandfat walks around from behind the student to put his hands on his neck - he wasn’t a likely spit target. The student doesn’t look like he’s anything but co-operative.
And if you read the article, Officer Tallandfat slapped the young man about the head some after he was unconscious.
Officer Tallandfat needs to retire without pension, promptly.
Now see Johnny you got it all wrong. The cop noticed some dirt on the guy’s neck and was trying to simply wipe it off.

The cop needs to go...no doubt. But you can’t look at that picture and say whether or not their was resistance.
Choking a suspect is definitely crossing the line. LOL....what kind of defence tactics are cops being taught these days. “If all else fails.....CHOKE’ EM”.

And look at the series of pictures at the linked article. The first picture has the FAT CRIMINAL DEPUTY behind the student shining his flashlight at the student’s back.
In subsequent pictures he goes around to the front of the student (while the other TWO LAW ABIDING DEPUTIES handcuff the student), places his two hands around the student’s neck and begins to STRANGLE the HELPLESS STUDENT. Observe the look of exertion on the FAT CRIMINAL DEPUTY’S face—FATSO is putting his all into the strangle.
In the final photo the student is completely unconscious and has collapsed. In that last photo look at the FAT CRIMINAL DEPUTY’s face now—he almost looks as if he had just has an orgasm. The FAT CRIMINAL DEPUTY is a very dangerous man that is loose in the community—he may well have strangled (to death) others in the past and gotten away with it.
JJ Jones, Knox County Sheriff, demoted 5 officers involved in this event.
You do know there are such things as internal investigations don’t you?

“...officers involved in THIS event...”? Read the article more CAREFULLY-—those demotions were from a different event 2 years ago. And the two year old event didn’t even involve deadly force such as strangling.
I notice this is reported in a U.K. site. Where are the American reporters?

How about some criminal charges too?
Perhaps a few of these cops need to start having "accidents" a few months after they get their rocks off on citizens that are not allowed to defend themselves.
