The last Friday in April is dedicated to undigested cat fur. Yes, you read that right! April 25, 2014, is National Hairball Awareness Day. To honor that day and the cats affected by the issue it addresses, we've found photos of the cutest kittens and most fetching felines around.

Our kitty was coughing a little last night. I got him a drink of water and brought it to him. He seemed to be grateful, and was fine after he drank about an ounce.
None of my three seem to have any problems with hairballs, although they all seem to be shedding quite a bit lately.
Glad to hear your kitty is well! How old is he?
Only one of ours seems to have issues, but we give them all indoor hairball control formula (maybe that’s why—maybe not).
Looks like an excellent strategy—intimidate the little buggers!
I think he is about 5. We got him in March 2013. He spent one of his lives in November, 8 to go. (Had a big, infected cat bite, had surgery, had to wear the cone of shame for weeks due to the first two times we tried to take it off, he was picking at his wound.)
You are wondering why I brought him a drink if he is not “old”? HA Because I pretty much wait on him hand and foot, and try to do whatever to make his life good. He is spoiled rotten.
Let SIr Kitty Be Victorious!!!!
Should we go around gagging and coughing in solidarity or something? What possible purpose does greater “awareness” of hairballs serve?
If only we could simply cough up our “national hairball”...
Gagging in solidarity sounds good—particularly at an Al Sharpton presentation.
Perhaps if we all agree on a time to make it an international effort, we could eliminate several hairballs in one swell foop.
I’m a dog person, always have been. Don’t dislike cats but just never have had them.
I feel disenfranchised by this. I want a national drag-your-butt-across the carpet day in the spirit of inclusivity.
LOL! Well done!
Cute!
