I attended the Bundy press conference today - 02-24-2014. There were about 25 people in attendance and a half-dozen media-types from CH 5, 8 and 13 - maybe even some paparazzi.

Bundy talked a bit about where all the BLM guns had gone and then had a Q&A session. On cue, one reporter asked him about the "Negro comment" and, IMO, Bundy walked right into it.

He talked about how he has worked with Negroes and had no problem, but he happened to be in Los Angeles during the Watts riots and wondered why those people were burning down their own neighborhood. He reiterated his previous "black people on the porch doing nothing, etc." comment. I winced, because I felt he was just giving the media more red meat.

While his comments were all true, and I took his earlier one to be a comment on the failure of the Great Society, the media and their puppets in the comments section were all over him, and will be again.

I wish he would have said something along the line of "That tremor you might have felt was the liberals falling to their knees, giving thanks that I used an 'N-word'. Not THE 'N-word' but close enough. The 'he owes the govt money' mantra was wearing a little thin, but now they have a new diversion, keeping the focus away from the badge-heavy tactics of a over-militarized agency."

I gonna hate to see how the media spin this one.

Here's a pic, where they set up a new podium in a small hollow away from the wind and gave him a mike this time so he could be heard. (The audience was up where I was standing or over to the sides. The guys on each side of him are armed bodyguards.)

As for the drug sentencing, you’d find black defendants were involved with violent gangs, or had prior felonies themselves.....

Of course, the review does not in any way apply to incarcerated Black men w/ a history of violence outside or inside prison.....and especially NOT drug dealers.

We're talking solely about innocent Black men w/ no history of violence who have immaculate prison records.

The paper trail is there. ...let's use it for the right purposes. Violent offenders, drug dealers need not apply.

That is a waste of time and effort. Every single talking head on Fox News has thrown Cliven Bundy under the bus and their own brains in the trash can.

Charles Krauthammer made a complete fool of himself in particular. On Special Report he condemned "Bundy's words" and in the next hour on On The Record he made the exact same points that Bundy did while discussing the subject of the SCOTUS decision on Affirmative Action. No substantive difference whatsoever but he said it in a Harvard dialect.

I believe in smaller government, I love my guns, I hate Obama, I hate liberals, I’m anti abortion, pro America, God is awesome, pay your bills, everyone should pay their taxes, taxes are way too high, pro school vouchers, guard the borders, defend our country, it’s our duty to help the poor and downtrodden, however welfare is bleeding our country dry, and I looooove apple pie... And a bunch of other things that similarly represent my conservative values! My values do not represent the defense of a rancher who has essentially been using land and not paying for it under agreement he signed! While I believe our government is bloated and power hungry, I do not believe these agents were sent to kill anyone, they were there to evict someone off of land that he has refused to pay for, and refused to move his cows off of! Ask anyone in law enforcement if they ever had to remove or evict people from premises before! Just because the cops shows up with a gun... Does not mean he is going in with excessive force, or going to shoot anyone! They will also tell you that if it’s known that the person being evicted, has issued threats of force on the cops if they try to remove him... They will tell you that law enforcement will show up with overwhelming back up as a show of “shock and awe” this extra back up is to send a clear message to the person not to try anything! Understand? Bundy has a ranch that has 140? 160 acres? He also has over 1000 head of cattle, this means I’d guess he had 15? maybe 20 ranch hands willing to help their boss defend the land he’s squatting on, his entire family lives on the ranch as well, then he had militia that joined the fight and neighbors, friends, and people that just wanted to shoot their guns if provoked by the government regardless of the cause... So let’s say, in the beginning he only had 130 or so people by his side ready to engage in a “range war” that bundy threatened if enforcement tried to evict him, vs the 200 BLM agents and FBI... I’m sure they will tell you that with the threat of this magnitude with 130 people ready to fight... Enforcement is gonna show up with plenty of back up to show that shock and awe I mentioned, with 160 acres, you might even bring in a helicopter so you can have an aerial view of the land so you can direct your agents on the ground for their safety! This whole excessive force thing is really lame guys, and really makes me question your conservative values when you bad mouth the agents, but not questioning a rancher for not paying his million dollar fee/tax! You guys defending bundy, is creating a precedent! It’s going to be really hard to point out John Kerry not paying that $400,000 tax on his boat, or Sharpton not paying his taxes, or any future argument closely related when it come to working the system! Y’all really need to pull it together guys! You’re risking all our conservative values so you can be right about something, you know is not! There will be a day when we will have an opportunity to fight the government for a just cause, but when that fight comes? I want to hold my head up and fight/live/die proudly! How bout you?
