EXCLUSIVE: In the wake of shocking allegations of sexual abuse against Bryan Singer that surfaced five weeks before the launch of the new X-Men film, Singer has cancelled a scheduled appearance at this weekend’s WonderCon in Anaheim, Deadline hears. Fox instead will send Simon Kinberg as the studio prepares to launch the Singer-directed blockbuster X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Kinberg wrote and produced the film and has been a part of the X-Men universe since the beginning.
Singer had been scheduled to be on hand to do interviews for the film that Fox opens May 23. It seems fairly obvious that right now he’s not going to get the kind of questions that will help the movie, or that he could answer. Singer had been scheduled to represent X-Men among a bunch of big Fox movies vamping this weekend, appearing along with Andy Serkis, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman and director Matt Reeves from Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes; Jay Baruchel and writer-director Dean DeBlois from How To Train Your Dragon 2; and Dylan O’Brien, writer James Dashner and director Wes Ball from The Maze Runner.
Deadline ordinarily doesn’t cover the personal matters of celebrities and hasn’t since its inception, unless the ramifications touch on business. This is the second time that has happened today since these allegations hit the press — with Singer’s attorney vociferously denying them. My colleague Nellie Andreeva reported that Singer’s name will not be used to promote new ABC drama series Black Box. A small portion of the promos in circulation for the series, which premieres next Thursday, featured the X-Men director’s name. They now have been pulled, at least for the time being, according to sources. Former House executive producer Singer serves as an executive producer on the straight-to-series drama starring Kelly Reilly.
And, given the info on insiders they have, wonder how many of these are REALLY accidental OD’s or suicides...
Notice Renfro was cast in his first movie by the gay Joel Schumacher. And he was directed by Swinger when he was very young. I believe these young kids dieing from drug overdoses is because they can’t live with themselves. And I believe they’re started on the drugs by Hollywood perverts. Another one was River Phoenix.

I agree. These kids are violated, drugged, and passed around Hollywood’s elite. Like some secret society they probably have code words to denote those child actors that are subject to their predations with little to no interference from the parents.

Very conveniently. And an OD is very ‘believeable’ for a death if you’re a known drug abuser.

If you read the wiki entry it says he’s got a kid. But the existence of the kid was a closely held secret until after his death. You have to wonder what sort of fear he had to keep his kid a secret like that.

I attended Wondercon last weekend. He wasn’t missed in that huge event — but from the looks of some of the fans, they would have LOVED to see him.
