Johnny Depps Transcendence bombed last night as expected, taking in just $11.5 million. Thats a disaster for a $150 million movie.
This is Depps second major flop at the box office, following the catastrophic Lone Ranger. And now this poses an important question: can Depp open a movie that isnt Pirates of the Caribbean? The answer is No. Hes made zillions from the Disney adventure movies.

Johnny Depp is a one trick pony.
He can take any role well known or unknown and render a creepy version of whatever it was.
good, depp is an arrogant ass.
He’s a one trick pony, one trick is all that horse can do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfv3kBzJZgU
Now you do.
She is is a switch hitter and beyong hot. If given a chance I’d be up to setting her straight. She what I did there LOL!
“btw he is getting married to a lesbian actress named Amber Heard”
Totally agree. Loved him in Sweeny Todd, he did great justice to that role.
I don’t think it is the actor in the film that makes decision for for the theater-goer whether or not to go and see the film. People do not avoid a movie because a certain star is in it. They don’t attend because they do not want to see the movie, bad story or uninteresting subject. The star, in this case, becomes the scape goat for a $150 million mistake by the studio.
It's weirdness like that, combined with a complete inability to rebut Liberal talking points, that clearly illustrates why conservatives don't connect with the average American.
Not knowing the identity of one the biggest movies stars for the past 30 years?
I constantly see posts from Freepers saying bizarre (but true) things like "I haven't seen a movie since 1974" or "I haven't had a television in my house since 1986." We'll never attract people to our cause with oddball behavior like this.
In the past "30 years", to my recollection, Johnny Depp has never come up in any conversation of mine with any family, friend, co-worker, church, etc. But you think I should know about him so I can discuss him with other people that don't talk about him either? There's your oddball behavior right there.

Yes, I’ve seen them both. I’ve seen God’s Not Dead twice and both hubby and I thought it was just as good the second time. Not many movies can boast that.
Lone Ranger was just a dud from the get go, expecting any actor to carry a 50s tv character movie in 2010’s was foolish. Let to mention one so horrifically bad.
No actor could have saved that film, it should have never been green lighted.
Don’t know anything about this latest one, but I don’t blame TLR flopping on Depp, had that thing done anything but flop I would have been amazed.
There’s only one movie he ever did that I liked and that was secret window.
I knew who he was but he isn’t in my top ten bucket list item. Pirates of the Caribbean movies are fine, but I try to avoid giving $$$ to the Hollyweird leftists.
To be honest with you—and I’m not trying to be argumentative, but—I am IMPRESSED by those who haven’t watched TV in years, nor do they own a TV. Perhaps because I grew up in the 60s and 70s, when TV was better than it is today. Also, there are just other things to do than watch what has been called “the boob tube.” Reading, conversation with loved ones, exercise, even sitting outside on the porch and watching the sky darken with night, and if you’re a Christian, of course, fellowship and prayer with the Lord. If people judge you because you’d rather do other things than watch TV, then they’re not really worth the time in getting to know them.
And I DO know who Johnny Depp is. His earlier works were better, many memorable.
He made a movie that did fairly well about a mobster in Boston
As I was saying in my post......TWO years ago.....
There is a reason why Conservatism has completely lost the culture war....
We're not involved in American culture.
Are you talking about my post #50 that was posted on 4/21/14. I believe that was two years ago, not AFTER two years.
Lol..that’s odd!
