We just got back from the 24hr check in with the eye dr. Her second eye is far better than the first one from 2 wks ago, but it is doing good he said. She went back to surgery at 5:55 and at 6:50 we were on the street in front of the bldg saying bye bye. That just amazes me, that it is so quick.
The worst part of both surgeries, was getting up so early to be there. My friend, Melinda, took me for both surgeries, and she is like me that getting up early just isn't done. Think we had to get up at 4 am to be there. We both sleep walked into that building. I, of course, couldn't have anything to drink that morning, so no coffee. When we got out of there both times, we went to the drive in window of Starbucks on 105 and I had a Starbucks gift card from family from the last Christmas, so we used that to get coffee.
For that last eye, we were both worried because I was blind the next day - we were anxious to get to the doctor that day due to the blindness.
I also was grateful my eyes could be fixed. Before this surgery was possible, people just went blind. We have much to be thankful for in medical care. Now, with Obamacare, I hope we keep the ability to get surgery. I've said seniors may be turned into Soylent Green after they reach a certain age. Maybe I need to watch that movie again. :o)
