MAURICE RIVER TWP. A Cumberland County woman argues that the state Motor Vehicle Commissions alleged denial of issuing an 8theist license plate violated her First Amendment rights, according to a lawsuit filed on Thursday.

Maybe she should try for “SATNLVR”.
I don’t think atheists believe in satan, either so I don’t think that would be accurate.
“You can check out each states list here or if youve got time to let stuff load, check out the entire list in this PDF.
State Forbidden Personalized License Plates [GovernmentAttic.org]
Prohibited license plates [Boing Boing]
Banned license plates: DMV is hip to your txtspeak [CNET]”
8theist is not atheist it is “ate theist”
It’s promoting Cannibalism and is offensive
Well, let’s try this a different way. Muslims believe that allah is their god and that Islam is really a religion.
Ipso Fatso, she is denigrating the Muslims’ religion and according to liberal US Democrat Sharia Law, should be denied, nay, publicly thrashed for such a blasphemous act. :o)
You don’t need to believe in Satan to do his work.
You just know that atheists are the brightest among us, having the ability to prove a negative. On the other hand, agnostics are open-minded skeptics.
I always find it interesting that atheists think themselves so superior in knowledge that they can deny there is no superior being, that position goes against at least thousands of years of men’s existence that acknowledge there is something greater than ourselves in the universe.....
I can understand an agnostic pov....at least they concur with the known experiences of mankind dating back millennium. ...

Kids first
He ended up in court over it because the DMV made him turn them back in.
Reminds me of “THERAPIST” that turned out to be “THE RAPIST”
I have a Catholic friend in Texas whose plate reads PAPIST.
Her tag should read “H8theist”, because so many of these people are filled with Hate.
A few years back, I saw a Virginia tag that read SO DO MY.
Very few people got it until I showed a pick of the back of the car with the rainbow stickers. Reported it to DMV, and a couple weeks later the car had new tags that read STPTH8
(Stop the hate).
imagine how surprised they will be someday
Let her have her “Statement”. After her third auto insurance company cancels because of her record of 8 cars totaled by rear end collisions, perhaps she will request a different tag.
“But officer, it’s not my fault I hit her. I was just trying to understand what her vanity plate meant. You know how hard these dump trucks are to stop, especially with 15 yards of gravel on board.”
The state has no obligation to sponsor your message.
Get a bumper sticker!
You have it backwards. The State is providing a forum for people to voice their own message. When the State then starts picking & choosing which messages it will allow & not allow via that forum, it becomes a censor.
Some states have denied Christian-based vanity plates in the past, too.
8theist acknowledges the existence of eight gods, doesn’t it?
