OK it's not Walmart, but it's a serious issue nevertheless.
America needs to keep, start, build and GROW global companies right here in America.
Stop this nonsense.

So what's your solution?
It is your view, which is ruining America.
American businesses need a lesson in being pro-American.
I don’t see where that lesson will come from, because EVERYONE is running as fast as they can into the waiting arms of globalists.
Imo.
U.S. Corporate taxes are completely out of control, and it results in shenanigans like this. Many U.S. Companies have $billions they are not repatriating due to this.
Maybe when the government stops raping and pilaging the private sector, and
The only problem I have with this is the idea that America needs “global” companies. Almost by definition, if they are “global”, they are not American, nor do they owe their undivided loyalty to America, American employees and customers.
We have become used to multinational companies operating in America, but the assumption that they improve our lives is questionable. They might give us cheaper prices, which benefits consumers in the short run; but at the cost of pushing out their purely American competitors because their goods are made cheaper overseas, so at the cost of lost jobs, and yes, lost taxes.
But such multinational companies also prod America to surrender its sovereignty to internationalist interests; to sign treaties that advantage multinationals, not America; and, most recently, to embrace foreign cultural norms that most Americans find loathsome.
As such, multinationals are a potent force against American exceptionalism, prosperity, and quality. They much prefer socialism for us, as long as they are exempt, as it makes things easier for them.
So instead, we should restrict and limit the influence of multinationals in the US, preferring, even advantaging purely American businesses. To take away the business advantages that multinationals gain by exploiting other nations. And yes, to insure that if multinationals want access to our markets, they must pay their fair share of taxes for the privilege.
Yes IF you are 30 and under! That goes for Macy’s, Dillard’s Penny’s, Targets, Wal-Mart, et all. They cater from birth to 30, then seem to skip the people in between until 70-80 with Alfred Dunner clothing styles. Well there are a lot of people if that in between age range that have money to spend on clothing. But REFUSE to buy the horrid STREET WALKER CRAP!.
I’m 1 of that age range. And it is not safe to go to the mall unarmed, and you don’t welcome my gun! So I order off Amazon. Or Salvation Army. You don’t even carry my shoe size, tell me to go to the KIDS department. I’m to old for cartoon garbage on my shoes.
“American capital is badly in need, of coming home.”
Sure, it is.
But it won’t until it is treated better. I have a very active oil and gas company. Doing very well in New Mexico and West Texas.
But 1/2 of my expansion is in South America because the taxes here are absurd.
I hear ya! It’s been 15 years since I bought a pair of slacks....I’m making do with my high-water-high-waist pants that went out of style eons ago. LOL
I’m NOT about to wear hip-huggers...they look ridiculous on *mature* wimmins.
The only place I found pants with waist bands is LLBean....and I refuse to pay their price.
I get mortified when I take my 11 y/o GD clothes shopping.....keeping her from looking like a hooker is challenging. :)
The middle America I know shops at Marshalls or TJ Maxx. Myself included and I am below middle class by a long shot. I will never shop at JC Penny.
Good luck with the Great Succession. Hope you have a plan to rid all the people ‘ from away’. They at the ones who have ruined the damned state. And yes, you can point out any number of conservative Mainers from away but the number of liberal out of staters is massive.
I never shop malls...I can’t stand to be in them.
TJ is pretty good.
They rely too heavily on health insurance reimbursements for prescriptions and in-store clinics.
Since Obama has just taken over that industry, the government is in a position to deliver crippling punishments if they attempt this.
Why would they stay? Think about it, starting one year before the vote we will be doing ads explaining to welfare recipients that if they stay to vote and if secession passes, they will have to immigrate into the US, for there will be no welfare in Maine. Maine will be a foreign country, but if they leave 6 months before the vote, while they establish residency in Massachusetts, RI, NY or some other state, they can continue to suck at the teet from Maine. But once Maine is no longer a state it cannot and WILL NOT provide any welfare.
Starting six months out or candidate for Governor will be using his ads and interviews to explain how small Maine's government will be, how there is no income tax, no EPA, no Dpt of Education, etc and how state employees may very well find themselves out of a job so perhaps they should think about leaving while there is still a housing market.
Try to keep in mind this has been in the works since 1985.
Jeez, guit sounding like a broken record. I doubt seriously that you have ever started or run a business yourself “with American capital” or not. All you ever do is whine about “Capital is not apolitical” or “American capital is badly in need, of coming home.”
As some have pointed out but you seem to never get into your thick head, “Capital goes where it is respected and well-treated.” as posted by Ruffian.
American companies and their capital are dumped on and sabotaged by the laws passed, unmanageable regulatory burdens, light years of red tape and everything else that a business owner has to put up with. And that goes for the huge corps also. When they have to spend their capital on whole departments just to *try* to comply with the laws, regs and penny ante rules, forms and red tape that change on a bureaucrats whim, they have no choice but to either go out of business or leave for somewhere else.
Businesses, large and small are leaving states like California and Illinois for states with better business atmosphere. Large businesses and corps are beholden to their owners/stockholders to make a profit and stay in business. When they can’t do that, they leave for someplace better.
The problem is NOT American businesses who don’t want to hire Americans or their American capital. It’s the anti-business, anti-capitalist environment created by the gov’t in the US that is making them flee. They and their capital would come home in a nanosecond if the business and regulatory environment changed for the positive and they could at least survive here.
You’re really grinding on that one last nerve with yer broken record postings of the same d@mn thing over and over without any mental effort behind it to understand why Americans and American business can’t survive here in the US.
Give it a break already. It’s not American business and its capital that’s to blame for going ‘overseas’. It’s totally the fault of the gov’t regulation and oppression of all business- except their political crony capitalists with their hands in each other’s and the taxpayers’ pockets.
If you ain’t part of the solution, then you’re part of the problem and whiny @$$holes who cry about American business trying to stay alive by going overseas doesn’t provide much of a solution.
Just my 2/100th of a George.
I think you have vastly over-simplified.
We sure, have a problem now with Obama. The problem is we had just as big a problem with Bush. So for the last 14 years now soon, we will have been being sold - to COMMUNISTS.
America we need to look out for American businesses.
We need to bring back American jobs, and stop sending jobs to other countries.
Both parties are at fault.
Bring back AMERICAN jobs. No more excuses. No more jobs sent overseas to this country, or overseas to that country.
No more hiring bunches of illegal immigrants.
Bring back American jobs, and hire Americans.
We tried sending jobs offshore. All it accomplished is we are destroying our very own country.
Bring back Jobs.
Remember when the state of Illinois took the Democratic approach to fixing their budget woes by raising taxes? The debt problems of the Land of Lincoln would disappear, Governor Pat Quinn argued, if the state hiked corporate and personal income tax rates by as much as two-thirds. The extra revenue would stabilize the states fiscal footing and pull them from the brink of financial disaster.
How well did that work out? As the Wall Street Journal reports, Illinois debt has now been downgraded to the lowest rating of all 50 states by Moodys:

maybe if idiots didn’t run the state...
