Odd eyed white cats ten to be deaf on the blue side. the mutation that controls the odd eyed pattern also has something to do with hereditary deafness.

“Heterochromia Iridum” means “Different Colored Irises”.
Why not say it in English? LOL! I love Taxonomic Nomenclature.

All I know is this is the look I got when someone wasn't allowed to lay on the keyboard this morning.

I have a niece with this (one green eye and one hazel). It’s not as obvious as these are, but you can see it if you get up close. So it happens in people as well.

I have two cats with this disorder. Mother and son. Beautiful sweet faces but total Jeckyl and Hyde personalities! They tend to make my other cats lives miserable lol. The momma is a shoulder angel and she doesn’t give any warning when she jumps on you, if you walk by her and she’s on something waist high she’ll make the leap. Scares the crap out of me most of the time :)

Our cat is a shoulder cat, too...but he launches from the floor! Interesting part is because he and my hub are bonded (they fight and play daily) he only jumps on my husband’s shoulders...He knows NOT to bother me...I am only his food maid.

That she hears just fine. She just doesn't listen. :-P

Is that your cat? That is one scary picture, although I’m sure that she is sweet. Most cats are.
Visiting the link, I’ve never seen so many white cats in one place! Although there are some of different colors, the vast majority are white. There must be a genetic link between white fur and different colored eyes.

"Most humans have a vague, lingering fear that without cats, their lives would be meaningless. This is mostly correct."
