The first PGA golf major of the year begins on Thursday morning as The Masters takes place in Augusta, Georgia. The 2014 Masters Odds for the tournament have Rory McIlrory favored to win, according to the Las Vegas Hotel, home of the SuperBook.

This year's Masters tournament will not feature the world's No. 1 player in Tiger Woods because of a back injury. Yet, the 78th edition of the most prestigious golf tournament in the world will still feature 19 past Masters champions, including defending champion Adam Scott, who is listed at 10/1 odds to win the tournament.

Rory McIlroy is listed as the favorite by oddsmakers to win this year's Masters at 8/1. He is the only player listed in single digit odds. Behind him, Scott and Day at 10/1 and Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson are both at 15/1 odds to win the tournament.

Below is a list of the individual holes at the Augusta National Golf Club, courtesy of Wikipedia. The tournament will play as a par 72 again this season and total 7,435 yards.

They run a pretty tight ship at Augusta, that’s for sure. I just noticed (for the first time) the caddies are wearing caps with no sponsor logos. They all have Masters green caps with small logos on the front. I looked for some pictures and it seems this has been in practice as far back as I can find. Funny what we miss...

Gotta love Freddie Couples!! THIRTY years of golf in that bag...

Put him and Bubba together for the final round and enjoy!

I don’t know about Phil and Jason, but Bubba sure had a good day. Five birdies in a row!

It looks like Phil is slamming his trunk and fueling up the jet.

I was hoping he could at least contend. He hasn’t had a good spring...

What’s with Rory? Oh let me guess. He’d rather play tennis than golf?

Tennis girl’s pink hair is disgusting. Perhaps the disapproval of spectators for this vulgar display is affecting Rory’s game.

Meanwhile, Fred Couples is gaining lots of fans; he’s durable, talented and takes his game very seriously.

My wife suffers from psoriatic arthritis as Phil does. Sometimes it is so painful she can't put on a pullover sweater or wear shoes. The prescriptive remedies (which aren't complete cures) such as Enbril which Phil advertizes normally last about 1 year before the body builds a resistance and the pains start reappearing. When they do they move around with no rhyme or reason.

She thinks he may be at that stage of complexity.

Sorry to hear that and I hope she’s doing well. If Bubba doesn’t win, I hope Freddie Boom-Boom does.

Well, final round today and I think it’s going to be a scramble. Anyone at even par or better has a chance. Would love to see Speith or Watson or Kuchar pull it off. Even Freddie has a shot. Tee it up!

GOLF

We had two wagering lists at our club. No one picked Bubba. I think it was kind of subliminally assumed that he is a head case and his first win was a fluke.

I made some "top five" money with Speith and Kuchar.

DID ANYONE SEE THIS? Some one peppered the roads around Augusta with anti Obama signs that the networks avoided. The ones on the grounds must have been placed late at night and came down right away, but some were there for a couple of days, or removed and replaced the next night.

Hey, I just noticed the Augusta Country Club sign --- what's up with that?

TERRIFIC signs. Hopefully, they’ll appear at every club for the rest of the year.

I don’t know what kind of a “nutcase” Bubba is, but it’s definitely serving him well. Amazing win Sunday.

Speith looking good for further success this year, imo.

The Augusta Country Club is not to be confused with the Augusta National Golf Club. Two different clubs and courses. The street entrances to the respective clubs are quite a way apart but the actual golf courses of the respective clubs almost touch each other.

I wonder if maybe the "prankster" was politically motivated, but knew little about golf, except the date.
