Made a batch of soft pretzel sticks, wrapped them in 3-4 slices of bacon and grilled till crispy.
Used a generic soft pretzel recipe from the web and doubled up on the yeast, won't do that next time.
These lasted all of about 30 seconds at a party last Saturday.

With the price of bacon these days, you could wrap these in 10 dollar bills.

Clarification: “Used a generic soft pretzel recipe from the web and doubled up on the yeast, won’t do that next time.”
The web recipes are fine. Too much yeast made it less pretzel texture and more bread like. Also need to punch down the dough after it rises, which I didn’t do.

So you baked and grilled simultaneously, or were the pretzels already pre-baked/finished? They look great.

Pretzels were made first. Make the dough, let it rise, form the sticks, boil them for 30 seconds, put on baking sheet and brushed them with an egg wash that had one egg and two tablespoons of Jamison, baked at 450 for about 18 minutes.
I was at my son’s house and they are salt snobs over there. Used fresh ground pink Himalayan salt on top of the egg wash.

Here is a guaranteed great soft pretzel recipe from King Arthur Flour. I've been baking them for years. They take 1.5 hours from start to out of the oven. For some reason, women go nuts over them far more than men. Always a hit at Super Bowl parties. I wish I had this recipe when I was a teenager.
