Mozilla, the company that operates the web browser Firefox, experienced its highest level of negative customer feedback the day after its embattled co-founder Brendan Eich resigned as CEO after gay rights activists objected to his appointment.
On Thursday, Mozilla forced Eich to resign just two weeks after hiring him. At issue was a $1,000 donation Eich gave in 2008 in support of Californias Proposition 8, a successful ballot initiative which banned gay marriage.
The decision to remove the man who invented the web scripting language JavaScipt did not sit well with many customers many of them pelted Mozillas website with a surge of negative feedback.
On Friday, 94 percent of the sentiments registered on the site were sad, while six percent were happy. That translates to about 7,000 negative responses, compared to nearly 500 positive responses.
Your abject and pathetic condemnation of an individuals right to hold and support their own view on the world is simply unbelievable, read one users feedback at the Mozilla site.
Eichs hiring last month generated outrage from Mozilla contributors, called Mozillians, over Eichs past support of Prop 8, which passed in California with 52 percent of the vote.
Outsiders protested Eichs hiring as well, and likely served as the tipping point for his removal.
The matchmaking website OkCupid posted a letter which greeted Firefox users informing them about Eichs political contribution. It urged them to find another web browser to search for dates.
Many conservatives expressed their outrage over the forced resignation. Talk radio titan Rush Limbaugh tackled the topic on his show on Friday. Conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer called for a counter-boycott of the tech company. And many conservative Twitter users urged other conservatives to remove Firefox from their computers under the hashtag #UninstallFirefox.
Mozilla declined to respond to The Daily Caller News Foundations request for comment.
I went to Opera, it works great. I will do my best to dissuade everyone I know from using any Mozilla products.
Because nobody uses that site anyways besides really fat chicks and disease ridden prostitutes. No reason to boycott something that is irrelevant, doubt anyone normal would ever frequent that place.
ROFL!!!

WHy is nobody talking about going after Match.com and its companies?(Match owns Okcupid). I created a protest profile at Okcupid just for that purpose.
Mozilla stopped graphing the daily complaint volume.
Personally, I don’t think match.com cares about fake profiles. I remember them getting busted for creating fake profiles just to get more users on their site.
I would instead donate time and money to their opposition.
You are a swell. BTW, I’m going to need a car on the 10th. ; )
They don’t. However users do. They will get tired of reading profile after profile and Okcupid and Match(well match maybe, they are huge compared to Okcupid) will be forced to address it.
I didn’t have it on my main laptop, so I am firing up an old xp development box to see if I have it so I can uninstall it. :-)
what is their number
Thanks. Not sure I can help with a car though. :)
In this current fascist faggot fiasco, as in every other national deviance of the past few decades, there is ONE enabler without which none of it would have been possible:
Not good business to risk losing hundreds of millions of dollars over a small donation of 1,000 dollars. At least, not good business to logical people.
One of the 25,000 clever posts on the Mozilla complaint site said, “Do you have a separate drinking fountain out back for the politically incorrect?” LOL
Too funny!!
Welcome to the Duck-fil-A Barrel, Homozilla.
That is something that hasn’t yet been touched upon too much. But this whole incident (and several similar ones of late) are showing that America and its culture are at long last starting to become fertile soil for tyranny and the kind of resulting atrocities that have dotted much of history elsewhere.
Couple this with the sheer lawlessness that has become rampant with Obama/Holder, and the overall decay of the culture. I see the country lurching towards true dictatorship. The populace will enable it.
That's basically what I told them in my feedback.
Just used their feedback and gave the bastards an ear full. There will be no doubt that I’m pissed! I also deleted FF from my computer and will never use it again!
