It seems the non-packaged food vending machine trend is not slowing, not one bit. We've all heard of cupcake vending machines. And of course, there was the rise and fall and resurrection of Burritobox. And now we hear word of Let's Pizza, a pizza vending machine. Because, of course there would be a pizza vending machine. You don't want a dystopian future with no pizza, do you?? Alright then.
For now, Let's Pizza is only operating in the UK and Italy, but there have been rumors for years that the machines will debut in the U.S. any minute.
Invented by Italian entrepreneur Claudio Torghele, the machine makes pizza in about 2.5 minutes. The pizza is made from scratch - as in, the dough is mixed, the pizza topped, etc. It can make around 100 pizzas before the machine needs to be refilled.
Of course, the prospect of pizza vending machines shouldn't be all that thrilling to residents of L.A., seeing as we already have caviar vending machines.

All union members with a negotiated contract plus vacation, sick pay, maternity/paternity/family leave, tuition reimbursement and Obamacare health coverage. Probably more like $30-$40/hour. Not that much profit in pizza.

No, because your labor costs are nearly eliminated. All your paying for is an up-front cost on the equipment, maintenance, and rent.
This is why Redbox is kicking ass in the video rental industry.

When I do order pizza from a delivery source, I usually order two and eat only two slices then freeze the rest in two-slice baggies for future easy meals. Order the works pizzas so the thawed treats really zing the tastebuds.

Keep in mind they would also need to have ovens and other equipment, and rent a storefront. This machine can be stuck somewhere, like in a gas station or a highway rest stop, and just refilled periodically.

The brick-and-mortars have went under. Now it’s just streaming, mostly.
Netflix works if you can wait a day or two. If you have them lined up in the queue you can get them in and out reasonably fast.
Depends on where you put this. This machine can probably pay for itself with lower volume business than paying employees to stand around and do nothing when there aren't enough customers. The expenses of the machine are also relative. It may not be more expensive than current pizza machines that require employees. This can also be open 24 hours.
There was one at an airshow I went to; only thing was you had to tell the guy what you wanted (one size only) he makes it and you wait at the other end for it. Worked pretty good.
