A Montana woman was sentenced Thursday to more than 30 years in prison for killing her husband of eight days by pushing him from a cliff in Glacier National Park after they argued over her regrets about the marriage.
U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy said he saw no remorse from Jordan Graham, 22, in the killing of Cody Johnson, 25. He sentenced her to 30 years and five months in prison and ordered her to pay $16,910 in restitution.
Graham will be subject to five years of court supervision upon her release. There is no possibility of parole in the federal system, meaning shes likely to serve the full term.
A tearful Graham took the stand during the sentencing hearing in Missoula, apologizing to her family and Johnsons.

Beside that, shell probably be out of prison in less han 10 years Reminds me of the expression, if I killed her when I wanted, I'd be out of jail by now.

Be careful. I think Ive won one argument in the last thirty years, maybe. And remember they find a way, sooner or later, to get even. Is simply safer to say, yes, I was wrong.LOL! The first two words after "I do."?
"yes, dear"

Note to self: if wife tells me she wants to discuss concerns about the marriage when we are next to a treacherous slope of a ravine hundreds of feet up, tell her she is 100% right and apologize until we get back to the car. exactly! i do not believe she said she wanted to talk about the marriage before they got there... why would you go there to have that discussion? ridiculous... her entire cover-up was pathetic... juvenile... and she only got 30 years? she should go away for life at the very least...

my husband's cousin Cindy (who was a widow) married a guy who killed his second wife this same way... pushing her off a hiking trail... Cindy was his fourth wife and did not know this guy's background... all she knew was that he was a widower, and she thought she was his second wife... anyway, he killed Cindy by drowning her at a lake, while her two young sons and his son waited for them at the shore... his name is Randy Roth... he is in prison in Washington... Ann Rule wrote a book called A Rose for Her Grave, and this story is in that book...
you can look google Randy Roth... diabolical, indeed...

The name of that show was "Queen for a Day". Only trailer park white trash contestants. No questions were asked, no skills were required to be demonstrated. Contestants won solely on how pathetic, desperate their story was. There were usually four women, each one presented their own little sob story and the worst, most pathetic of the lot would be declared Queen For A Day. Of course, a title like that would never work in today's demographic horror show. Which reminds me. There was a movie musical made back in the early 40's and I always think of how our society has changed in that the title of the movie would never even be suggested. Check it up on IMDB.

She later told Glacier rangers she had found Johnsons body near The Loop because it was a place he wanted to see before he died. The poor sucker got his wish.

I’ve always wondered where someone is supposed to come up with $17k if they are going to be spending the next 30 years in prison. Turning tricks for the jailers?

Or at least be in Nabraska. Not many cliffs to be pushed over there.

So this is a federal crime but voter fraud by a poll worker in Ohio isn’t?

Restitution to the park service for cleanup maybe, or false report and costs of investigation.
His family recovers via a civil suit for wrongful death, so the restitution is not to the family.
