While we wait to see if freshmen series like Almost Human and Tomorrow People survive for a second year, we thought itd be a good time to take a look back at some of our favorite one-season sci-fi wonders.
Were drawing close to the dog days of summer, and though theres more original sci-fi fare than there used to be, its still essentially the doldrums for a genre fan. Luckily for all of us, thats where streaming services like Netflix come in handy. What better way to spend the downtime than to catch up on some gems that never got a second chance?

I really liked The Event and Terra Nova. Could not make it through surface I will try some of the others. Survivors was three series, wish it had continued.
How many seasons did “The Invaders” run?
Firefly without doubt... Think I might watch the series again..thanks for the heads up.

I liked a show from approx. 1978 titled Lucan about a boy raised by wolves.
Two.
Looking forward to season 2 of Defiance.
It took a couple shows to start growing on me but I like the free market town standing against the Earth Republic.
Firefly. The movie ‘Serenity’ is pretty good too.
Firefly was awesome. The Jayne one liners were great.

Scifi series i wished were on Netflix? Odyssey 5
I want to watch 10-15 episodes of a series that was cancelled after it's 1st season with a myriad of unresolved plot lines.
I miss the days of Barnaby Jones, Mannix, Cannon, Rockford Files, Columbo, etc.. where each episode had a beginning, a middle and an end with closure and resolution.
You could miss 2 or 3 episodes and still enjoy the show.
Now, you have to watch every episode, and if you miss just one, you end up clueless and lost........
just like Obama.
Thanks, i'll put on my list to check out. Always looking for good...well, interesting scifi. I saw all of 4400, which wasnt bad. But Helix, a series on right now, i had to stop watching after four episodes. The characters are making stupid decisions (more than usual for a TV series)
Gee, no The Powers of Matthew Star???
No Voyagers?: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083500/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_5
No Q.E.D.? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083468/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
Watch Firefly, you will like it

Jayne is played by Adam Baldwin (Thankfully no relation to Alec Baldwin) and Adam Baldwin a a Conservative!
I would have put Tremors, the TV series on that list.
I liked Terra Nova, but then I like dumb shows.
Also liked Caprica — but it wasn’t so much dumb as it was creepy.
I haven’t heard of some of them, lol
