Anybody watch it this weekend, I didn't.
Just interested to know if it improved.

Didn’t like the use of cartoons, looked like something out of Scoobie Doo!

So I’m not the only one who’s underwhelmed by the remake? The original inspired me to become an astronomer. I forgot to watch the remake by the third episode.

I don’t like the cartoons either. It cheapens the show.
To: EveningStar
I disagree. I think it’s fascinating. And I think Tyson is doing a good job.

Silly cartoons, mixed in with attacks on religion and faith.
No, thanks. I’ll pass.

Didn't particularly like the one last week, had some friends over and didn't even bother to DVR this one.

The original Cosmos had a great musical score!

I gave up on it last week. Really disappointed, but not surprised. It fits the times we live in. A thin veneer of cgi and nothing of substance beneath it.

The cartoons are... unbelievably bad. I mean, really, Matt Groening is one of the producers, it looks like something he put together on his iPad while in another meeting. An awful flash cutaway scene in the middle of a cheap Facebook game, hardly worthy of being on network television.
The continued links back to Sagan are just frustrating. The first episode’s were great, but that should have been the end of it. Instead it is coming across as a tribute show, rather than a continuation of the series.
Just poorly conceived from start to finish.

Did you see the original? The original was inspiring you could actually learn something from it. Tyson just looked goofy in the 2 episodes I saw, and was frankly dull. The article is right on the mark. He is reading someone else’s words and it shows.
