Talk about a box office diversion.
Shailene Woodleys Divergent might be the No. 1 film in America but faith-based audiences are once again proving to be anything but conservative at the U.S. box office.
Christian drama Gods Not Dead, opening in fewer than 800 theaters, is on track for an impressive $8.2 million this weekend. Thats a per-screen average of over $10,400 from 782 locations.

Kevin Sorbo was a very big name at one time, but he is not the typical Hollywood player and has spent more time doing films like this in the recent past.
I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin’s dad and helping him buy a tuxedo for an award ceremony in which Kevin was nominated for his performance in “Soul Surfer.”
The family is very down to earth and faithful Christians.
You had the right ideA; just clarified it a little...: )
There is excellent acting in the movie and thought it has a Muslim family they don’t slam them or their beliefs and are very repectful. I guess you might say they treated them as a true Christian would have...: )
Good movie? Maybe, but accurate - you did not say. Does it portray the Bible accurately or is it just another Hollywood fiction movie? What I’ve heard is that it is a great movie but more fiction than fact.
Pure Flix is a Christian movie studio that produces, distributes, and acquires Christ centered movies for the sole purpose of influencing our culture for Christ
Good to hear. Making a living is all personal so if he is making good wholesome films good on him.
I stand corrected! I hope you’re right and it is really a Christian movie... Thanks for the information though, good to know.
You’re welcome. :-)
Just looked it up in my area and will go see it tomorrow
My local Library has been stocking Pureflix dvds. Just watched “This is our Time” the other night. Will look for other movies from Pureflix to share
I just bought Courageous at WalMart for $5. They had Soul Surfer in the $5 bin too.
This movie is a drama based on a student going into a philosophy class (he is warned not to by the adviser) and the entire class is forced to sign a piece of paper stating “God is Dead”on day one.
The professor threatens the students grade and says if they refuse they must justify God in front of the class with him as the opponent and judge.
Everyone in the class caves and signs except one student who defends God's existence at no small personal cost to himself or his future dreams.
Well done. Good character development. I recommend it.
Theater was packed and prior to show time, everyone was asked to move in and fill empty seats. I believe the movie sold out at 7:30pm Friday.
You are absolutely right...my problem! I tend to think that all of these movies are made in Hollywood. Hope to see it!
Hollywood pushes leftist ideas... and no, they don’t care about the money. Most of those leftist blowhards have more money than they can spend in a hundred lifetimes. Hollywood liberal elites want the glory of being ‘KING MAKERS’ and cultural leaders and all that other bullsh*t that’s destroying anyone’s desire to see a movie....
