Well what does anyone expect? When we refuse growers water for crops to protect some asinine fish and we use corn for a crappy fuel substitute instead of feed for livestock what other results can there be?
Bush’s fault.
I haven’t bought hamburger, or any beef, since sometime in early 2013, maybe longer.
Read somewhere that because of the exceptionally cold winter, ranchers were loosing a large percentage of their cattle. This could be the reason for the higher prices for anything beef.
Those are wholesale prices for hamburger, not retail
Meanwhile, that POS in the White Hut is eating all the ground beagle that he wants!
Prepper’s ping especially to post #6 this thread.
Gave it up some 33-34 years ago. Poultry & fish (and cheese) since. Only later did I realize it in a sacrificial sense to God.
Ah, another index to measure hopey-change. Little barry is such a master don’tchaknow.
It’s a good thing useless things like food, energy, and gasoline are not included in inflation statistics. Otherwise it might appear the Obamarecovery is a myth.
You better buy a wheel barrel ASAP or you won’t be able to afford one soon. You’ll need one to carry your devalued dollars to the store to buy your rations.

Can’t be, there is no inflation /s
Thank God for the ground venison from my husband’s hunting.
Ground beef has been more expensive than that for quite some time around here. Once in a while they have a special 10 lbs. for 2.98, and I buy some.
Turkey and chicken is still about a buck per lb. So that’s what I get the most of. Put ground dark meat turkey in with a little beef bouillion, and its pretty good for casseroles and tacos.
We also get quite a few specials on pork roasts at a buck per lb.
I have canned a bunch of chicken and pork. Thinking about canning some Turkey too.
Sometimes we get a beef arm roast on sale for 3 bucks per lb. I grind some of it for hamburger and cook the rest in the crockpot.
We are eating more beans and rice these days. Course we like beans a lot anyway.
