A group of 28 U.S. attorneys general is urging chief executive officers of five major retailers, including Walmart, to stop selling tobacco products, saying it is contradictory to carry such items in stores that also provide health care services.
The companies receiving a letter on Sunday from the group were Wal-Mart Stores Inc, supermarket operators Kroger Co, Safeway Inc, which operate pharmacies, and drugstore chains Walgreen Co and Rite Aid Corp.

“Will cigarette smokers get a discount on Vikings season tickets?”
Will they even have a place to smoke on the premises?
In addition, Attorney General Drango of Dystopia, upon hearing about the letter, was heard to say, “Hurraaaaaay!!!”
Obnoxious AG’s Nanny State PING!
Tobacco bad. Pot good.
No
Not to worry. They ALWAYS think of other ways to steal money from it's citizens.
It's way past time to start shooting these bastards.
Eventually everything not banned is compulsory!
They’ll be lucky if they’re allowed to smoke at home while watching games on HD TV.
LOL Too true!

I’m glad my state’s AG wasn’t involved.
So much for Pennsyltucky jokes. More like Pennsyljersey has crept way past Pittsburgh and splattered all over Ohio, with the other liberal splatter from Illinois/Chicago hitting from the other side.
My little convenience store sells bandaids——they are health care products-——maybe they shouldn’t sell cigarettes either.
As far as the targeted chains go,they sell more junk than health products. Aisles and aisles of crap.
.
Bummer...I hope you don’t suffer too bad. That your panties don’t get into a twist and that you don’t feel demonized.
I know what you mean - the drug stores and Walmart sell beer and wine here!
Thanks for the ping!
The Master settlement agreement. And state cigarette taxes. We are talking about billions and billions of dollars to the states.
These public serpents are sorry excuses for racketeers and cartel leaders.
They are making money hand over fist. This would be like organize crime cracking down on cigarette smuggling between VA and NY.
Unless they figure that it’s not going to make a difference anyway. Because instead of buying cigarettes at Walgreens people will buy them next-door at the gas station. But they can make it look like They actually want people to quit and are interested in the health of their fellow man.
