It's amazing she lasted that long. MEDS, I guess, for the fatties.
Cheers!
They had a good sense of humor and did miracles with the junk that the British eat in the name of food.
If my cardiologist had ever watched that show, he would have had a heart attack, not me.
However, two nice ladies and they will be missed.
As to the one who didn’t like Nigella Lawson, come on. She’s cool, pretty and makes things that look yummy.
Cheers.
I’m going to use this!
I’m also going to cut and paste and send it along as an email to my mother.
She won’t remember who the two fat ladies are, the only female chef she recalls is Julia Child, but it’s great advice.
Thank you!!!
I saw that show a few times. It was great! RIP.
Julia was wonderful. She is missed.
Oh my goodness that is quite a name!
Yes, agreed.
Love those two women. Well-educated, well-spoken, witty and wise. I have all of Dickson’s books - including the hilarious memoirs “Spilling the Beans” and “Riffling through my Drawers.” There’s no one to take their place.
Boy, cloud, you are proving to be a real downer on every thread you’re on.
You obviously know nothing about this amazing lady who ate the greatest foods on earth and wrote some of the finest cookery books in English - particularly her one on roasts and carving. But then I own all her books and your glean what you know from God knows where.
She, by the way, was the first women in England who was admitted to the bar as a barrister. She survived childhood abuse and alcoholism to become one of the most beloved television presenters - with knowledge in many areas. She also was a Tory who fought political correction in all it’s forms.
RIP, Miss Dickson.
I too, enjoyed the show. Wonderfully endearing women, what a hoot it must have been to around them.
