A chilling theory suggests the missing Malaysian Airlines plane could have been hijacked using a mobile phone or USB stick.
An anti-terror expert believes the speed, altitude and direction of the aircraft could have been changed, simply by sending radio signals from a small remote device.
A framework of 'codes' created by cyber terrorists would also be able to get into the plane's in-flight entertainment system and override the security software.

It is also believed, once the systems have been successfully hacked, the plane could be landed by remote control.
The theory has emerged as the search for flight MH370 continues to grow, with 25 countries now involved in the rescue effort.
Yesterday, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak confirmed the plane's disappearance was the result of a 'deliberate act' and could have flown as far as Kazakstan.
Dr Sally Leivesley, a former Home Office official, said: 'It might well be the world’s first cyber hijack.'

Short answer to the article’s title-——NO.
As I understand it, some of the tracking equipment requires someone to get into the electronics compartment under the cockpit and physically flip breakers to shut them off.

Couple of things that have happened over the last year. The first was this story about hacking an airplane with a cell phone came up and was debunked. Second was that reporter killed in California who it was believed had his Mercedes hacked. The last was last week. It was reported that the Russians somehow either hacked or interrupted the signal of an American drone and captured it.
Also this past week was the hackers competition. The team that broke Apples Safari was Chinese. While most of this would seem irrelevant, why couldn’t someone plant a program in the planes operating system prior to taking off then shoot a signal to it from pretty much anywhere? Our engineers reposition satellites and move Rogers around from hundreds of thousands of miles away.
Why would this be any different?
That is the question. It could be anyone...and more than one...and even the US.
Although, if the US I think it would have been handled much differently..
This goes back to the point that a Freescape employee was murdered/suicided who was working with the company that was kicked out of the US for spying...who just happened to have some people on that plane. The Telecom still hasnt said who.
Both companies had people on that plane.
I thought it was interesting that Boeing recently said they had warned ..were worried...dont really remember exactly what they said or what....about how a plane could be hacked
This whole thing is strange. They flipped off the flight recorders, went to the ceiling, descended rapidly, took a left, then a right, and then poof, gone into the ether.
The cyber hijack, while extremely remote, I suppose is possible but unlikely.
The best thought I have seen so far is that they were headed for Diego Garcia, a military island where the US has a major runway where we can project military power into most of the Indian ocean, Africa, and SE Asia. A hit there would be a major blow to that projection and would benefit the Chinese immensely as well as anyone in Afria up to the Russain border in range of B-52’s.
Don’t rule out the Chinese...it’s citizen are expendable to it’s government and with Diego Garcia neutralized they could do whatever they wanted while Bath House Barry diddles with Reggie Love.
Is there an interpretation of this available?... What is this in regards to and what is person trying to say?

There were a bunch of employees on there from Freescape/The Carlyle Group.
Maybe China wanted to hurt that company in retribution over one of their employees outing the Spying. The guy who was murdered/suicided.
Motive Kind of far fetched (but so is this whole thing)..but it is completely possible China did it for whatever reason.

Don’t overthink it. I have been exchanging FB PMs with an active 767 pilot (American) who flies for an Asian airline, stationed and flying Boings currently in SE Asia. He says that it could be a one-pilot job. This is one possible theory. One pilot locks the other out during a restroom break, or incapacitates or kills him in the cockpit.
My 767 pilot FB friend says that a single pilot in the cockpit can turn off all the commo and transponders etc EXCEPT for the engine telemetry going to the satellite, which would require a trip down into the service bay. The trap door is right behind the cockpit door. A one-pilot hijacking, similar in some ways to Egypt Air. (Solitary “Sudden Jihad Syndrome” being probable.)
Working theory: one pilot hijacked the plane. The other pilot (if locked out) and/or the flight engineer on board go down into the service tunnel and begin yanking out navigation equipment plugs.
The hijacker pilot can fly the plane manually, but not by autopilot and not using GPS. He would only have a backup compass to steer by. Everything on a screen can be darkened by the pilot/engineer in the service bay. One plug at a time, the hijacker’s job becomes more and more difficult.
It might have been a “Flight 92” situation with the other pilot and/or the flight engineer trying to prevent another 9-11. If the hijacker was screaming over the intercom at the folks pounding on the door, “Allahu Akbar! I will burn the infidels and you can’t stop me!” the situation would be pretty clear.
So it might have been a single jihad nut-job pilot, versus a plane load of passengers including an engineer who know how to stop the pilot-hijacker from navigating to his target.
Like I said...the best theory that I have read so far.
None of this makes any sense. The pilot/co-pilot/Navigator shouting Allah Akbar and trying to splash the plane works too.
The weird flight path makes a struggle for control look highly likely, and the victor(s) having only to sit back and fly in a direction where the plane simply runs out of fuel and ends up in the drink.
But usually those who are interested in martyrdom want the whole world to know it.
I believe that the Iranians claim to have cyber-jacked one of our drones about a year or so ago. I have no doubt that they may have, using a hacker that was probably educated in the US (at taxpayer expense - those “foreign student” grants bite us in the butt in oh so many ways, right Baraq?)
Your friend is far more correct and giving a possible scenario than a cyber attack. As someone that helped create some of the 777 avionics I know for a fact that no part of the 777 flight controls are even attached to another computer or communications system for a hack attack to even be physically possible.
