They sold that many?

Actually, those cars are kind of cute, but I’d never buy one.

Yup. I had to rent one on a trip. Car almost didn’t last two days of hard driving.

How can failure to shift out of park cause a crash? Seems that it would prevent a crash.. Yeah, it’s a safety feature!

Well, it just goes to show how car brand names are really secret acronyms of what you can expect when acquiring their products.

The old two-cylinder one. Even when I was much thinner, I could not see myself fitting in that car with someone sitting in the passenger seat. How can anyone move the shift lever in that car?

It looks like a “smart car” rebadged.

My rental had smoke rising out of it when it returned it to the lot at the airport.

Yikes!
I had to rent a 2013 Nissan sentra last year.
Acceleration was best described as “not today.”
How did the fiat do in comparison?

I saw one of those yesterday, parked on the end of a row of cars along one of Grand Rapids’ long straight row of potholes which has street line markings painted along it; the 500 was sticking out and pushing the street down to one lane, which is amazing, because it’s pretty dinky.

The Fiat 500 is SLOWER than a Nissan Sentra!

Even the Abarth version isn’t particularly fast by today’s standards.

Putting the seats very close to the surface of the road gives the illusion of speed, especially in a lightweight vehicle. Think how much fun a go-kart is.

I had one of these cute Fiats. Fun to drive, pain to keep up.

This is Fiat’s version (well 4 door) of the British Mini cooper.

Neither are stellar cars. I drove the mini’s when they weren’t so high-endy, one from the 80s that looked more like it was on puffy go-cart/lawnmower tires. Putted around a lot of England in one of em.

I had one of those. It was not unusual to park it and find that students had moved it 90 degrees to make it hard to get out of the parking space.
