Sorry about the title, it had to be shortened. Excerpted the juiciest part of that title.

From article:
In Shah’s house a flight simulator has been set up and is understood to have interested police following up one line of investigation - that he had used the equipment to practice making his real-life Boeing 777 ‘invisible’ by turning off all communications.

What’s with the alarmist headline? It’s reasonable, and fairly common for a commercial airliner pilot to have a simulator at home.

Sheila Jackson Lee says the plane has been missing for 400 years.

I saw an article after the plane went missing about two women that flew on that plane the first leg of the flight. They said that they were invited to sit in the cockpit with the pilots. They did and one of the pilots was smoking on the flight and they all just talked and had a conversation. Did anyone else read this?

I think the Malaysians are keeping a day or 2 ahead of what they tell anyone.

Worst case scenario, pilots involved in commandeering plane for later use in delivery of nuke.

Most likely is crash of some sort, but other explanations aren’t demisable.

...that he had used the equipment to practice making his real-life Boeing 777 ‘invisible’ by turning off all communications.

Having a simulator in his home didn't sound unusual, but the part about practicing on how to turn off all communications sounds pretty suspicious. Is that based on data or just conjecture (i.e., are they able to confirm that he used his simulator to go into 'stealth mode', or was that just a feature available on the simulator)?

I dont think its a big deal the pilot had a simulator..Ive seen his youtube video I think his simulator looks pretty darn cool..He’s been flying for 33 years obviously he loves his job maybe he’s one of those types of people who love taking their job home with them..what I am more interested in is who said “All Right Good Night” before the plane was transferred into Vietnamese airspace..according to CNN, the ACARS was turned off first, then the transponder, and that “All Right Good Night” is not normal pilot lingo

From everything I've read, the captain appears to be something of a British-style eccentric aviation geek - but I don't consider him a suspect.

The first officer? Maybe...

Is “sim” an abbreviation of stimulator?

I’d better self-censor the games I have on my puter. Just in case they shed light on my future plans after those plans have been executed..

Thanks, Laz!

Pingout to all y’all!

Some disagreement between the Malaysian officials....

But now its got more interesting, given that the cops are searching the pilot and copilots houses.

like I said on other thread, ELT’s not blaring their alarms, + comms shut off, + ability to go ~90 minutes past the distance from KL to Beijing = Bad Moon Rising!

Boeing built the first invisible Stealth 777 and didn`t even know it.

I can't believe this plane could have flown this course without being detected.

This has got to be the worst reported story in history.

The pilot was giving classes and was not only a pilot but an aviation buff. I don’t think there’s anything suspicious about this, since I have known many people who fall in love with flying and even if they are professionally employed as fliers in one capacity or another, love it so much that it takes up their every waking moment. So I’d say he was probably the first to die.

I’d look at the co-pilot. Beijing was threatened the week before and the co-pilot has an Arabic Muslim name but is very Chinese looking (meaning he might come from a hostile Muslim group in China or Russia, especially since the plane was on a route that could have taken it to the ‘Stans).

Whoever did this knew the plane well and was probably not alone.

I read in the WSJ that to disable the second system, somebody would have had to lift up the carpeting on the flight deck and go down into the electronics.

Being the pilot and co-pilot would certainly make things tidy.

1. Build a simulator
2. Train a fellow terrorist
3. Make a plan
4. Take off with your trained fellow terrorist on board
5. Shoot the co-pilot
6. Fellow terrorist takes place of murdered co-pilot
7. Shut off oxygen and fly to 45,000 feet to kill all the passengers.
8. Fly to a newly prepared landing field in an obscure island in the Indian Ocean
9. Cover the aircraft and then unload the gold/platinum/uranium/diamonds/cash/whatever
10. Abandon the aircraft
11. Escape in a fancy yacht
or
8a-11a. Run out of fuel and die
