Liberals will use a Straw Man argument and say that Bush and Clinton used Executive Orders far more than Obama has. But it isn't the NUMBER of Executive Orders that is at issue, it is the NATURE of the Executive Orders.
If Congress passes a law saying that illegals will be deported - WILL - if they do X,Y and Z when coming here, how can Obama keep from breaking the U.S. Constitution by saying that "Dreamers" can stay and long as they do A, B and C?
Some would say that Governors cannot override federal law as the U.S. Constitution stipulates that federal law overrides state law.
But if Obama is supposed to enforce the laws that Congress passes and has passed, and goes against the Constitution (on this and other matters), then what is to keep the several states, per the Governors or state legislatures, from saying that they will no longer abide by federal laws that they don't like or disagree with?
I wonder what Trey Gowdy would have to say about this?
What say you?
The day after the 2012 election Obama’s dreamers showed up to protest the Michigan secretary of state for not giving them driver’s licenses.
She told them to take their complaints to Obama because she isn’t the one who put them in limbo.
The reason I asked the questions in the thread title is I have wondered how long before some governor is going to use the same argument/rationale that Obama has used, and say that if SCOTUS reins Obama in, THEN after that point they will acquiesce.
I approve of this tactic. I’m sure Obama and Holder will be the first to whine about it tho.
As far as I know, there are no laws in this country. We’ve been transformed, doncha know. So, anything goes.
I was just telling my wife earlier today, that if Obozo and Holder could pick and choose which laws to enforce, I should be able to do the same, esp. in regard to the traffic laws.
Meant to say that I should be able to decide which laws to obey and which to disregard.
They can treat them just like every other citizen of each state and prosecute them for breaking the law, ie fraud, theft. Then, you turn them over to the Feds to be deported.
if sheriffs can remove people to outside their county lines, i don’t see why state police couldn’t move people outside of their respective state.
Why the hell not?
The president and his "enforcers" ignore federal laws!
DOJ ignores federal laws!
Congress ignores its own laws! (No budgets!)
I planned to ignore the Obamacare absolute requirement to get health insurance OR ELSE! I was just ahead of the curve, but it seems my view of the real world prevailed over Obamabullshit!
