No, hospitals have no large supply of anything - they work on the same method as other stores such as Walmart. I’ll put an article on here tomorrow about where our medicines come from. Hospitals would run out in a week and pharmacies won’t have any, either. Banks will close.
And a week after that, western civilization would collapse and a week after that, the chronically ill would start dieing off.
It all depends on what SHTF scenario you are talking about though.
In the course of my work I go through a lot of hospital pharmacies. All of the controlled drugs are in safes and would be VERY difficult to get without a cutting torch or explosives.
And you’re right, they have supplies but not a massive hoard. In a really bad situation it would probably be cleaned out by those working there.
