In the course of my work I go through a lot of hospital pharmacies. All of the controlled drugs are in safes and would be VERY difficult to get without a cutting torch or explosives.
And you’re right, they have supplies but not a massive hoard. In a really bad situation it would probably be cleaned out by those working there.

Exactly. If medicines do not come into the country, no hospital/pharmacy will have any.
Here’s another place that would get hit/robbed immediately :o):
I had an extended family member at my house a few weeks ago, and we went to Specs Liquor store not far from my house. Specs Liquor has stores throughout the greater Houston area. When he walked into the store, he stopped and was amazed at how large it was. The back of the store looks really far away and from side to side it is huge. He said, “If the country collapsed, this would be the first place to get robbed!” I said, “One of them would be me grabbing all the Amaretto.”
I was surprised he said that as he is generally a liberal and thinks all we have to worry about is global warming. I guess it took a huge liquor store for him to see the likelihood of a store being mobbed with looters. :o)
