Lately I find The Blaze website extremely frustrating to visit. Almost every time I go to the site it locks up my browser (FireFox)at home and at work on IE. Am I the only one? I have no problems on any other websites. The only way I get out of it is to cancel out in task manager. My guess is it has something to do with the annoying pop-ups or possibly some of the ads the Blaze uses.
Solution> Don’t go to the Blaze website.
i think its to do with the auto play videos. if i recall someone here had the addons to chrome/firefox (not sure on IE) that stopped them playing and more importantly trying to play or pinging them. i will see can i hunt it out again for you.
There are certain websites I no longer even attempt to visit. Most of it has to do with the pop-ups and auto-play videos that take the pages forever to load.
The Blaze happens to be one of those pages. It isn’t worth the time to sit there and wait for everything to load or worse have everything on their site freeze up my computer.
Most times I can find the information elsewhere and with less hassle.
Yep. Got so bad, I don’t even go there anymore. Seems to me the auto play videos were the biggest PITA; running even when clicking to a different tab. I run FireFox, mostly, but had the same issues on IE.
Solution? Stop visiting the site. Enough hit-count reduction, and even Glenn will have to take a look...
Agree. The content is great, but isn’t worth the hassle and frustrations.
I avoid the blaze if I can for all of those reasons.
happens to me also. Between that and the sappy “get out your tissue” stories, and article titles that can’t even tell you what the story is about, the site is a total joke on most days.
And this is supposed to be a conservative answer to HuffPo?
And all of the ads! Cheap looking and tacky. Their overabundance is what slows browsers down the most.
I would suggest installing Ghostery and block everything you don't really need (trackers).
Loads OK for me on Safari (very “busy” & distracting tho. w/pop-up windows & all). It uses a lot of Javascript...is your browser Javascript (not Java) turned on?
I haven’t had that problem there, I go there rarely but have never had a problem.
But, I do have that exact same problem very, very often at Hot Air. In fact, I go there a lot less, and always with fingers crossed. Sometimes I get that message about stopping a “script” from running and I can stop it, but most of the time it’s Task Master to close it all down.
Less frequently I have similar problems at National Review, but they are not so bad as what happens at Hot Air.
More often than not I had the same problem........it’s a pain in the neck so I avoid going there anymore.
Don’t trust Glenn Beck. Never give him any personal information or credit card numbers.
I've been trying to find out how to fix that problem so when I do a search, it take me to a Google + forum but every time I click on it my system gets locked and I have to end it via task master......
It appears many are visiting number two news site

Try installing Flashblock and NoScript extensions. It does help, but read the documentation because I am sure there are some sites you visit where you will want full functionality. You have better control with these extensions.
Drudge has become a nightmare as well. Too many ads. That’s a pity as I used to go there everyday.
Breitbart is better, imo.
Same here ... there is just too much going on in the background ... Glenn should realize that not everyone has a brand new computer.
