A Minnesota public high school was so committed to obeying its fire drill policy to the exact letter of the law that it forced a female student

Makes me wonder why there were not more there in swimsuits if they were in class.
I’m with you, this young girl isn’t my child, and I’m ticked right off.
Exactly.
Instead of using common sense guided by simple decency, and making an immediate judgement to take care of the student, they did nothing, and she suffered. Nobody did anything for her - what cruelty!
Now they say they have to “review the policies”. Idiots. As you said.
Schools should not have sovereign immunity. Teachers consider themselves professionals. They should be required to carry liability insurance like professionals in the dreaded private sector. The idiocy would vanish.
They have their union.
Minnestoopid.
That was my take as well......why did teachers have to wait to get “permission” to let her sit in a car? How stupid are they?
I find my having to raise this issue ironic, given my view of the Pooblik Skrewl Collective, but there is the issue of the 800# ape.
Had a teacher allowed the girl to warm up in his or her car, there is the possibility of being accused of a sex based improper/illegal act.
If, and only if there were two teachers present at all times would such an act of common decency been a safe one.
Sorry to have to point this out, but the FemiNazi and the NAG bunch have caused to be passed laws making it too risky to take any chances, particularly with a swim suit clad blond female. Alas, thanks to a herd of underemployed lawyers, to have allowed a student of any of the 50+ ‘sexes’ would have been almost as dangerous.
Even so, I hope her parents sue.
Can I and my friends be on the jury?
;-)
The more I read about these people, the more I think that they go into education because they're truly too stupid to do anything else.
I remember more than once having to stand in freezing wind dripping wet with towels around us for hours. Both times were bomb threats at my high school. That was in the 60’s.
I think I’d take the risk in a dangerous weather condition. It’s called doing the right thing.
the problem is the school folks don’tcare if they getsued andlose, it’s not their money that getstaken, but taxpayers. if they lost their pensions and had wages garnished if they got sued, it’d be a different story.
cops should also lose pensions and wages in wrongful death/injury situations.
“I think Id take the risk in a dangerous weather condition. Its called doing the right thing.”
Agreed, and so would I. But, the issue still stands unresolved.
PS America is about 5% of the world population.
PPS America has some 75% of the world supply of lawyers.
Parents need to file a criminal complaint, and then sue.
Once they turn 18, said screwed up kids "routinely" vote Democrat.
Her parents should SUE the school district back to the Stone Age, and then sue them some more.
These a-holes do not fear the parents.
I can’t begin to express my anger and disgust. I hope heads roll for this. But before that I would like all teachers responsible to have to endure 10 minutes of the same treatment.
> ... Wait several years, THEN “explain” things with a burlap bag & a baseball bat...
Excellent suggestion. Also, bring a shovel...
OMG!!! The STUPIDITY of these Public School people!!
