Treaty which could drag the US and UK into WAR with Russia

A treaty signed in 1994 by the US and Britain could pull both countries into a war to protect Ukraine if President Putin's troops cross into the country.

Bill Clinton, John Major, Boris Yeltsin and Leonid Kuchma – the then-rulers of the USA, UK, Russia and Ukraine - agreed to the The Budapest Memorandum as part of the denuclearization of former Soviet republics after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

Technically it means that if Russia has invaded Ukraine then it would be difficult for the US and Britain to avoid going to war.

“There will be wars and rumors of wars.” The hits they just keep on coming. The Muzzie in the Mosque on Pennsylvania Avenue wants to down size the United States Army to PRE-World War II size, and now he wants to take on the Soviet Union and their pals the Communist Red Chinese and 500 million murdering thug Muslims.

tanknetter is correct. It was never a treaty; if it were intended as a treaty it would have been submitted to the Senate for ratification. This agreement has no force in law.

Just exactly how WW 1 got started..interlocking treaties for protection. WW 2 Also. Cuidado America!

As if Barry would give a CRAP about a treaty...

any agreement (it is not a treaty, it was never ratified by the Senate).... that has as its core enforcement provision that disputes will be taken to the United Nations....

is a joke.

(and a Super-sized joke when the signatories hold veto power at the UN Security Council ANYWAY!)

nothing gonna happen there except a lot of hot air maybe

“it’s not a treaty, it never went before the Senate for ratification and carries no legal weight or obligation beyond being an “understanding”

Clinton didn’t need to get it ratified, he had a “ pen and a phone”.

Considering that Obama’s goal in any war is to end it, which makes winning against him much easier, Putin may not be worried.

They also hit the re-set button...

Obama is more interested in taking over America by executive order.
He could care less about the Ukraine, Poland or East Berlin.
In fact, he could care less about ANY white Europeans, or Americans for that matter.

Just a hunch, but I have a feeling that any "United Nations Security Council action" would not get very far.

Given that Russia is a permanent member of the UN Security Council and thus enjoys unchecked veto power, the Budapest Memorandum was meaningless from the start.

Guessing most Americans don’t want their family members dying in the middle of this.

Obama has a pen and a phone. I wouldn’t worry about that treaty.

I see no indication that Obama will honor any international agreements. Ukraine is already under invasion. If the US does not go in, weak and divided Western Europe will no go in alone.

Obama will not honor any agreement like that and because the US won’t move, neither will Britain or any of the EU. Sorry Ukraine, if a majority really do not want to be part of Russia again, you’re hosed.

If you think we've lived up to our treaties....ask an Indian.

The very treaties which were violated as much by the Indian tribes as the federal government?

Considering the number of "Indian" owned casinos that have cropped up across this fruited plain, I would think they have been more than compensated, wouldn't you?

Can you say "reparations"? Sure you can..........

a few weeks back was a report that the US government ordered thousands of 20 round AK 47 magazines and let's not forget about the millions of rounds of ammo the DHS has purchased. Let's see, who could those AK 47 magazines be for? Could that magazine purchase have been in prep for foreign troops to soon be visiting the US?
Scenario: The orchestration of a collapse of the US dollar, leading to a rapid fuel and food depletion, chaos erupts in the US streets, obozo declares martial law and civil war 2 ensues. The obozo then requests Russia and or China to help him regain order.

That sounds too flaky so that can't be it. Besides, obozo would never do that to the America people.
