Great catch for the kid but in all honesty eating something that big having lived in the lower part of the Mississippi river for as long as it took that fish to get that big is probably loaded with toxins.
Big fish make a great picture, but the smaller ones are much tastier.

That's probably bigger than he is.
I've caught catfish (Flathead) before, although the ones here aren't like the south. I've caught a couple of big trout and some big red snapper and bluefish on the ocean back in the day.
But this is over 4 times the biggest fish I've caught. I tip my hat to this kid.
