Enjoy Classic Duck Dynasty
I watching same thing Duck Dynasty
Thanks for the info. I’ve been watching the Weather Channel for thrills, since I live in Los Angeles.
Ghostbusters on VH1.
I, for one, would PAY to NOT watch the Academy Awards (although I always do not watch for free).
The "Oscars" too frequently go to those politically activist show people who are mere leftist opinion mongers and history revisionists.
.
The Oscars? They still do those?
I noticed that many cable stations are playing some great movies right now. E.T., Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Far more entertaining.
Face of Battle, Keegan.
The Last Gunfight, Guinn.
No homo speeches by actors, no hairy freaks. It’s great.
Even when I was watching network TV, I don't think I ever paid attention to any Grammies/Emmies/Oscars, etc. I really don't care what a bunch of tuxedoed, smarmy Hollywood types think are the best movies or music.
Well, I’m wathing the oscars, but I want to know why A & E isn’t having a Bates Motel marathon since season 2 starts tomorrow.
I was also annoyed that FX didn’t have a marathon of The Americans, we just decided to start watching that, but we missed season 1 so we’re still a tad confused.
I’m watching Burton and Eastwood in “Where Eagles dare” ;’)
Two hours of “Castle” reruns on the WB.
That was a GREAT movie. Not the most realistic film ever, perhaps, but great nonetheless.
I;m watching episodes of Blacklist! Awesome series.
My husband asked me to turn it to hannity. He has NEVER asked me to watch Fox. I think oh as finally pushed him over the edge.
I was watching Eric Clapton on Palladian network. I found this interesting article on him.
Clapton was raised in the Church of England, turned to hedonism, and found Jesus in rehab. Now he’s a born-again Christian.
Political Views
Clapton seems to hold conservative views, some of which may border on libertarianism.
Eric Clapton was born and raised in Ripley, Surrey, England.
Clapton was raised in a poor neighborhoodmostly by his grandparentsand often attended the local Church of England.1 But times were tough and as Clapton got more into the rock n roll counterculture, the more he got into drugs and drinking, and the less he was into religion (if he was even really into it to begin with).
Throughout his career, Clapton would encounter the Christian faith of othersperformers or missionariesand it seemed to have an affect on him, but for so much of his early and mid-career, Claptons religion was hedonism.2 Finally, in 1987, Clapton checked into a rehab clinic in a last ditch attempt to sober upand there he found Jesus for real. He recounts his experience after realizing he had hit rock bottom:
I had found a place to turn to From that day until this, I have never failed to pray in the morning, on my knees, asking for help, and at night, to express gratitude for my life and, most of all, for my sobriety. I choose to kneel because I feel I need to humble myself when I pray, and with my ego, this is the most I can do.3
But the challenges werent over yet and when Claptons young son fell out of a window on the 53rd floor of a Manhattan apartment building, questions arose again for Clapton. He said:
What they teach us in church and what religion talks about was a reality? Whether we just become energy, what is it all about? So I mean, it was a question, you know, will I see you again?4
Drunken politics
Claptons experience with politics didnt get off to a very good start. In 1976, while on stage and clearly quite inebriated, Clapton launched into a tirade that simultaneously endorsed an extreme right-wing English Prime Minister candidate, Enoch Powell, and outlined what seemed to be Claptons extreme distaste for immigrants in Britain. The quote began:
I used to be into dope, now Im into racism. Its much heavier, man.5
It ended:
Enoch for Prime Minister! Throw the wogs out! Keep Britain white!6
Since then, Clapton has apologized, had a laugh about it, and tried to stay out of politics as best he can. He couldnt help himself, though, when the British Labour Party took away his right to go fox hunting. Clapton joined the Countryside Alliance, an organization in opposition of the law, and had his people release a statement that read:
Eric supports the Countryside Alliance. He doesnt hunt himself, but does enjoy rural pursuits such as fishing and shooting. He supports the Alliances pursuit to scrap the ban on the basis that he doesnt agree with the states interference with peoples private pursuits.
It seems Clapton has kept at least some of his penchant for conservatism. And that last bit approaches libertarianism as far as I can tell.
Me, too. But alas, it is over. Now on to TBN and “The Bible.”
I am checking out the conservatives I follow on Twitter and laughing my a off. The New Yorkers are super funny. It’s something like an FR live thread.
