How many people here actually want to move to the U.S.? I said.
Her eyes widened and she looked at me like I was stupid even for asking. A hundred percent, she said. Well, maybe not a hundred, but close.

It seems that $20 per month and a ration card is not enough for many Cubans. Apparently they don't believe in equality.
Jeanne Kirkpatrick was wickedly funny in private and sharper than a tack.
You knew her? I wish I had met her.
I was struck by this Kirkpatrick quote from the Totten piece:
Precisely the opposite is true of revolutionary Communist regimes. They create refugees by the million because they claim jurisdiction over the whole life of the society and make demands for change that so violate internalized values and habits that inhabitants flee by the tens of thousands in the remarkable expectation that their attitudes, values, and goals will fit better in a foreign country than in their native land.Leftists never seem to understand that their dream society is utterly intolerable to everyone else.
All Marxist Democrats should strip down to equality and try living in the Cuban utopia for a year or so. Might cure them.
I liked Totten's story of Black Panther Garland Grant, who hijacked a plane to Cuba in 1971, thinking it was a worker's paradise. He learned that the entire country is a prison. "Believe me, Im all for the United States now. Id even wear a Nixon button.

Someone should tell Obama; clearly, he just doesn’t get it.
I was told by a native that 100% of the Vietnamese population wanted out of Vietnam (this was in 1996). Preferably, they wanted to go to the U.S., but really, just anywhere other than their Communist hellhole.
I’m sure this holds true for anyone in any other Communist country. It will prob be true for Americans before the Messiah is done.
I really doubt that it would.
A fool can look at all the evidence and information on any subject and draw the wrong conclusion. Happens most, if not all, the time. I believe that's how Marxism started.

North Koreans think China looks like heaven if it did not round them up and send them back.
He knows. He just doesn’t care.
