When I need a morale break, or start drifting too hard into my natural dislike of all things and persons foreign, I like to spend some time on youtube watching video blogs made by foreign exchange students sent to the US.

It can be a lot of fun to watch, first, their pre concepts of what it’s going to be like when they get to the US, then watch as they become accustomed to life here.

I get a free morale boost. Loose a good bit of my built up anti-furrin develism and end up appreciating what we have here a bit more.

One thing that separates Americans from other peoples is not that we're better than they are but that Americans are not afraid to fall on our faces. Many Americans fail when then try to do things thought not possible. But a certain pct. succeed encouraging others to try to do "impossible" things.

Of course, there are many Americans who try to things that are actually impossible to do. But they attempt to do them anyway. In that respect, maybe we're more bullheaded than other people, but that's one of the reasons why we have more things.

This article avoided the elephant in the room; the US as a police state. By far, the US has the highest incarceration rate per capita in the world. We have very onerous customs and TSA procedures. Cases of police brutality are commonplace.
Just think of the billions lost in tourist dollars because of the actions of the Federal government and thug police.
