What three movie characters of all time do you hate the most? They may be the the evilist most merciless villian like the emperor in Gladiator, or just a smarmy self-righteous protagonist or whatever you want.
Surely, they could have found some kid that could actually act.
Between Jar Jar, Anakin and the AWFUL CGI, its my least favorite of the Star Wars movies.
(The Hayden Christiansen ones aren't far behind)
If I had to pick just three...these are the ones that come to mind right now.
Nurse Ratchet, from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Lord, did I loathe that witch!
Sally Struther’s character in the original (i.e. Peckinpah’s) The Getaway. Poor Howard Sprague, being married to that pig...
Percy Wetmore from The Green Mile. What a little pri-, uh, jerk.
Honorable mentions: Chad from In the Company of Men, Maximillian the robot from The Black Hole (A childhood nemesis, LOL).
So was Paul Gleason, (RIP) also from Die Hard and the Breakfast Club.
Now that I think about it I hated James Spader in Pretty in Pink.
Good actor in other roles, though.
Agreed. It is one of those movies I can watch over and over again. Same for The Blues Brothers.
“You can’t lie to nun.” So true, Elwood. So true.
Double post! Delete!
That was good oh yeah!!!
Dana Carvy does a pretty good Jimmy Stewart.
After he's ruined everyone's life, Chad is asked:
Why did you do it?
Because I could!
So many REAL life people come to mind that have that thought process.
I forgot about that role.
My most detested actors:
Ronny Cox. In everything. He plays parts you are supposed to detest. He does it too well... Or something.
Sean Penn. He has fleas, lice, cooties... He looks highly contagious.
Jeff Goldblum. Even the dinosaurs wouldn’t eat him. Ew.
There are more. I am not a fan of most of today’s “actors”. I find myself hoping the movies end with all not surviving.
That is terrible... So few seem to know how to act.
“That was René Auberjonois.”
Wasn’t he considered a really great actor who kind of ruined his career and didn’t he end up as some third banana on, what was it, “Benson” which was a wacky spin-off from that even wackier show “Soap” in which Benson (who was a black guy and a good actor who’s name is eluding me) who had been the butler on Soap got elected Governor or something?
I like Sean Connery’s Russian accent. (do I really need a sarcasm tag?)
Robert Guillaume
Yes. You recall correctly!
As am I. I grew out of that at a very young age. My Dad always hammered to us kids that we had to always have and show class.
Nothing is less classy than potty humor.
Glad to finally find someone else who’s seen In The Company... besides me. And yeah, I’ve known a few Chads in the real world too, unfortunately.
Dustin Hoffman was phenomenal in Rain Man
Al Pacino has many good rolls. I think one of his best acting was in Devils Advocate.
Gene Hackman is nearly always good.
Anthony Hopkins
Robert Duvall
Sean Connery
Of course most of these are older actors.
But I agree that just about any of the younger ones than these today, aren't that good.
LOL, the 80s, lived that decade to the fullest!
And thanks to mountn man for remember Mr. Guillaume’s name.
Well, Ramius was Lithuanian.
1-Joanna Kramer in Kramer vs Kramer
2-Sophie in Sophie’s Choice
3-Karen in Out of Africa
Honorable mention: Any film containing the execrable Meryl Streep.
